I’m a homer. Im a Vol fan. If we don’t make a coaching change - I’ll root endlessly for Pruitt to succeed.

But yeah, as we sit here right now, I think I want a coaching change. Only if it’s an offensive guy and someone who wants to be here.

Kiffin is to me what Freeze is to most of you: my #1 never going to happen choice.

Napier is my #1 realistic choice.

Caldwell is too risky.

Gut tells me if a change is made it’s gonna be a crappy pick like Steele.

Does anyone how many schools got to ESD, signed what class they could and then fired the coach?

I’m wondering if Fulmer would take this route, even if Pruitt sneaks a win at Vandy?

I think Freeze would do well, but my honest opinion for a candidate?

Mario Cristobal

State of TN talent is getting better, fast, but UT still needs to rely on getting OOS state guys to fill a class. He would add a huge pipeline to Fla talent and most importantly, S Fl talent, He has proven he can build a program back up as well. Does well in the PR realm, has developed talent at Oregon, Sewell will be OL 1st rd pick. so he checks 4 boxes off the top. He wants back in the south, so check #5?
You been reading my list? Personally, I'd take Cristobal in a heartbeat and cry tears of joy.

But it makes me suspicious when you throw his name out there. I don't like that feeling.

College Football isn’t even complicated

What does basically every team that has made the playoff since it was started all have in common?

A good offense and a good QB.

If a coach doesn’t have a proven track record of being able to put together both of those things you’re just rolling dice

Freeze or a big proven name or I'm out. I would be happy with fickell. I would stick around and give campbell a chance. Probably would give chadwell a chance too. If we keep pruitt or hire the same type of coach we are used to, I'm out. I'll buy ole miss gear and jump on the Lane train. Probably follow wherever freeze goes. You guys should do the same. You're telling the program it's okay, if you continue to support them even tho they wont put the vols in the best position to succeed. I'll come back once they get it right. I refuse to enable them any longer.

“Give Campbell a chance”

Marrone, if it’s Phil that has contacted his “target”

Sounds awful, but I don’t have much faith in Phil to get the right guy. If he can’t put aside his differences with the best candidate on the board, I have zero faith.
Terrible history of hires. I guess the question is, does Phil get to make a unilateral decision here? I don't think so. I just don't think Phil can trot out a coach who just went 2-14. I would see Fuente much more likely than Marrone. Overall, I think if the decision is to move on from Pruitt this year, then it would only get greenlit if they was a "strong" candidate that most of the powerbrokers could get behind. So to me that eliminates alot of the lower tier McGoogles (Holiday, Chadwell, etc.). We ain't hiring Freeze or Art Briles. I think the list of "strong" candidates after that is very short (removing pipe dream candidates of Urban, Shoop, Petersen).

Kiffin would probably love to come back here. If he was 2 or 3 seasons into his Ole Miss contract he probably would. I dont think he make the same mistake of leaving after one season again. I could see Arizona going after Kiffin or Sarkisian if they fire Sumlin though.

I’ve been rowing the boat since WMU. I will not leave this ship. Double digit wins at Minnesota and WMU. Could only imagine how well he would do with all our power and resources.
Wow ok. Well, he’s from the Midwest and makes almost $5mil/year at Minnesota so that won’t happen. Maybe the Michigan job I guess.

WMU before Fleck: 5-7,6-6,7-6,4-8
Fleck: 8-5, 8-5, 13-1 (24-16 wisc)*never won double digit games in program history.
Post fleck: 6-6, 7-6, 7-6

UM before Fleck:
3-9, 6-7,8-5,8-5, 9-4
Fleck: 5-7,7-6,11-2, 2-3so far. (Beat aub in outback bowl) last 10 win season was 2003)

Played at NIU, short stint in the NFL with 49ers. Was the recruiting coordinator for NIU for one season and in that season NIU brought in Jimmie Ward who started for the 49ers for a while. As WR coach as Rutgers he signed a NfL WR in Leonte Caroo. Schiano took him to Coach in the NFL.

He’s as proven as any coach we could possibly hire. Just Bc he uses a slogan (like 95% of coaches do) doesn’t mean he’s anything like butch Jones at all. Trying to go polar opposite personality of butch landed us a middle school gym teacher who can barely speak English

Uhh... McElwain? Tom Allen who just lost to Pruitt? Get out.
I know no one want to hear McElwain. He won the east twice. I know GA wasn't what they are now, but they were pretty decent. TBH, I don't think they would get that far down the list. But if look at this from a risk perspective, his resume is better than Napier. Turned around Dumpster fire at Co. State. Turned around Dumpster fire at Central Michigan. Got railroaded out of Florida, not because he was terrible, but because they thought they could get Kelly or Frost.

I still like Napier better, bc of the previous post about his recruiting connections in the south.

He’s Butch reincarnated

Wow that’s so much disrespect for Fleck.

Fleck knows who he is and doesn’t care if it’s corny. He’s a confident dude and it’s why his players always end up buying into the perceived cheesiness.

Oh, and he actually played football as opposed to being in the band.
