Which is what USCe did. Then hired their first choice from the realistic list - a guy who had been there before, recruits well, was endorsed by Spurrier, and who has a sharp offensive mind/system to implement.

It's that easy.

If they have the money lined up for major facilities upgrades as LA stated, they have the money available to make the coaching changes that will pave the way for increased revenues to pay for it all many times over.

Bingo. They ain’t slick. Just cheap mfs.

So we getting some extra funds and instead of trying to upgrade the PROGRAM, we are choosing to upgrade seats... cool, yeah that makes sense. Too bad those new seats will most likely be shiny but empty next season with Gump at the helm...

We’ve had and still have the money even without prior tv money. However, the ‘but the buyout is 12 million’ excuse is shot all to pieces with a 15 mil per year windfall that wasn’t there prior. That is more to the point. We all know spending has been on anything but winning.

This is a false and truly uninformed statement. UT does not have the money. The university just bailed out UTAD's $40 million shortfall and used reserves to reconcile the current year's budget. UTAD is projecting a similar shortfall next year, which will have to be covered-- and that's before paying buyouts. UT can source the money for a coaching change. But to say UT has had it sitting around and is doing nothing with it is just flat-out wrong.

Healy to vandy would def be a Franklin type move. He knows how to build programs from scratch and get kids to play above their talent level. He will work hard as hell to get kids to stay in town. It’s really the perfect job for him to be honest. It’s right down his wheel house

I understand the TV deal and how much more it’s worth to the conference. But, ESPN will carry games that you’ll have to be a subscriber to ESPN+ to watch.

The university does have the money. Through all the investments they have made. “If they really wanted to dig in and pull out money from those investments” but yes, the Universities “year to year” budget has had to deal with these shortfalls.

The actual amount of wealth UT has through their investments is overwhelming though and the school would never, ever, go under.

Well when we get recliners in Neyland for seating and gold cups for beer, who cares if we win? The experience is more important.

I’m down to simply wanting a reset and Pruitt gone. If Freeze is a pipe dream, I’m good with Napier, Harsin or Chadwell...in that order. All in my lifelong quest for a HC who can match technical coaching chops with the better minds in football. Honestly believed Pruitt might fit that bill...won’t be the last wrong on my resume. 😔

Campbell. Don't forget Campbell. :p

Then why was Pruitt allowed to blow 1+ mill on Brumbaugh 6 weeks ago?

So I've always shared personal stuff for advisory purposes. Anyone wondering about kickback on the chainsaw blades for angle grinders..well, this is at UT and supposed to be my thigh.

*Don't open if squeamish*
GRAPHIC.

yes, there is kickback

Are we talking cash or accrual? I can make anything look worse if I want with accrual. Lol.

so what you’re saying is we will double down on the falsehood that we can’t afford it and claim that large organizations such as ours operate like personal finance when we all know they don’t.

No, I said exactly what I meant to say. You post your opinions as facts. You're entitled to your opinions, even when the facts don't support them.
