I do think that firing and the way it happened certainly created some tension among players and for sure among the staff. During the games JP is such a hot head when it comes to taking mistakes out on the coaches. Hell in all honesty this wasn’t the first time he had fired a coach in the middle of the game. He fired another coach last season during a game but ultimately came to his senses and recsinded it and let the coach back in the game...tells you what you need to know about how hot he can get.

Could of fooled me with his monotone blank expression ass the last couple of years

This is insane. No wonder we are so screwed up.

If I weren't already on the fire JP train I'd hop aboard with that one. THAT is not the type of environment conducive to learning whether you're a coach or a player. It IS the type of environment that's conducive to regressing and total breakdowns from an otherwise competent group. IOW, if this is how he behaves during games then I 100 percent understand why a team that looked promising after beating Mizzou completely fell apart. I also understand why our QBs struggle. Even the coolest and calmest under pressure is going to have a hard time learning anything in an environment like that. How on Earth did someone who is wound as tight as JG not end up in a rubber room with Pruitt as HC?

a friend of mine got a DM from a commit (not naming names) saying “heard Pruitt finna get released”

With VFLs looking around for landing spots it's looked that way. At the same time, a lot of recruits are going to hear that. The mood in Knoxville being what it is that's just the way it is whether it's true or not (and I really want it to be true AND followed by an announcement telling us the Freeze is our new HC).

So does a win vs Vanderbilt change anything if we were to get blownout by A&M

It shouldn't. Vanderbilt can't even field a team, atm, and is really only bothering to play at this point as a courtesy to the conference, other teams and the TV contracts we all share. If not for their obligations to the conference they'd have shut down this season entirely and probably have been better off for it. Beating them even with this team should be a given. It certainly shouldn't save your job. This is a bad Vandy team even by other bad Vandy teams' standards.

BH on tonights war room said, Kennedy and Smith not coming back, Palmer unlikely and Cade depends on his desire to play with his brother.
Kennedy has simply played WAY too long and Trey will be at least a second day pick...depending on how the Combine goes. He’s proven he can stay clot free two straight seasons and it only takes one team to fall in love with a Quentin Nelson type. The injury has hampered him but teams love the tough guys who soldier on...so another plus!

I’m down to simply wanting a reset and Pruitt gone. If Freeze is a pipe dream, I’m good with Napier, Harsin or Chadwell...in that order. All in my lifelong quest for a HC who can match technical coaching chops with the better minds in football. Honestly believed Pruitt might fit that bill...won’t be the last wrong on my resume. 😔

Lot of guys I would inquire about. The worst they can say is no. If you're chasing the top, then it shouldn't be embarrassing to be turned down. It doesn't become embarrassing until it's the lower level guys saying "thanks but no thanks".

Last search I was all about Matt Campbell and the saying of the no’s. It was a pipe dream then and he’s even more high profile currently. First want is a job opening. Then kick tires til your toes are worn down to a nub. I think we’ll end up with my list and a long term answer rests with any one of them.

Watch Pruitt go to another program and succeed if he is fired here.....

The better Neyland experience is when we cannot hear because it so loud and everybody is standing, even us blue and no hairs because the football is so good and means so much. Upgrading facilities before upgrading coaching and the product on the field is one of the dumbest business moves they could make. Produce a superior product on the field and the money will flow to do whatever they want to do with the rest.

I have a handful of booster and VFL friends. Know what they want, and it is the same things most of us want. They don't give a rip about facilities upgrades. They want to win and have pride in the program again.

No way they would let the commits know that right now. They would want to wait until after ESD.
Unless the move is being made after the Vandy game no matter what, and they want to commits to know beforehand so they aren’t surprised, as well as letting them know there is already a plan in place for who we will hire. Please make this happen, admins!
