Recruiting Forum Football Talk III

I don’t know. Sankey’s supposed to have a press conference at 6 tonight. I’m worried it may be related to basketball, or a cancellation of the rest of the football regular season. Just speculating though.
The season is over?! Then no more excuses waiting to fire Pruitt!

It will be BBall is canceled, because we have a really fun and great team, and that is Tenn and our luck.

Football will still be a go, of course.

My feeling is they would not make the same mistake the Big Ten made with football. But, you know, Tennessee and stuff.

It makes no sense to fire Pruitt, unless you have a guy lined up ready to take the job. And at this point I don't think the options available are worth it. That may change, but given the current pool of coaches, I don't see it.

That is really hard to swallow while we are sitting at 2-6 with record-breaking double digit losses and a collapsing recruiting class.

What??? Plenty of better coaches who would come here. Pruitt is the worst head coach we have had here and we should keep him? Whoa...

If Fulmer really allows him to revamp staff then that means Fulmer is promising Pruitt two more years. Any new assistant is going to require a 3 year contract and assurance that Fulmer has Pruitt’s back. This would line up with reports that Fulmer sees this as a 5 year rebuild. I am not saying this is the right move, but it does line up with previous reports.
Do we have any assistants now that are on 3 year contracts? I thought they were on 2 year contracts but I could be wrong.

I hope they have been working on this behind the scenes. If not then they will lose more money next year

Stopped reading at “It makes no sense to fire Pruitt.” A lot more reasons to fire him than to keep at this point. Once the recruiting falls off it’s over. Had he been able to hold this class maybe keep him. We’ve seen this movie before with Dooley and Butch.
