The truth is Pruitt has botched his chance to be successful here. That’s the problem with learning on the job to be a big time college head coach. Totally agree, but VQ stood by Butch for a long time, even after he was fired. I remember AP standing with him on the Catholic High School sidelines.

They’ve turned on Pruitt a year (theoretically) before he’s going to be fired.

No way we keep this gump. If they do, it’s gonna be a long off season and season next year. It will be miserable. Then everyone is getting fired. AD, coaches, other staff. It will be a wipe out and complete start over. Still think it’s over after ESD.

I still think Fulmer is gonna fire Pruitt. IMO he's working on a deal without the Haslam's money because he knows if he waits a year he may not get another chance to hire a second coach. There's just no way Phil is sitting back watching us get our doors blown off every week and not having a plan to fix it. Him being tied to Pruitt becomes much more relevant and a problem in 2021. Keeping him another year only hurts him because Pruitt hasn't shown he can fix things. It's gonna be a quick "Pruitt fired, new coach in 2-3 days later" move.

There are a combination every year. Some of them are really good. There are a fair share of blowouts; I will agree with you about that

I think he crossed a line with them when his staff didn’t take the paycuts. That made it personal.

And I think they know, like many of our insiders have discussed, that he’s toxic behind the scenes.

Basically, to answer your question, they don’t like the guy.

It may not be sexy, but bring me Tom Allen. Dude can coach and his players love him. He would be a great fit from a personality stand point and coaching stand point. I’m not sure he could ever win a title but we would have a solid team year in and out.
