How in the hell did he make it through the interview process then? Those traits are something interviewers pick up on right away! Ethics, moral and other things are generally traits that come out after the fact. Youโ€™d think that proper vetting and simply talking with him multiple times would have shown Fulmer his true colors?!?
Was Fulmer desperate?

I believe the answer to your last question is "yes". UT was a dumpster fire when Fulmer stepped in and this hire was done pretty quickly. In our corporate office, hires of upper management took 6 months minimum. Those guys left no stone unturned and made the correct hire pretty much every time. Granted, it's apples to oranges but the same principle applies. You can't afford to miss on those type of hires.

yes, he is totally fine. Not saying anything other than the reports/hype on him was that of a difference maker - a guy who could flat out score.

he has 4 points - that, for me, was below what i expected.

Not a big deal - i think he will be amazing. He has shown the flashes - thought he would be better quicker.

i guess, that's it, i thought he would be more polished and better more effective right out of the gates.
Trying to draw a lesson from this game is a bit of a stretch. The team just came off of a 2 week shutdown and comfortable handled a P5 likely tourney team. It was a good win and Keon played fine.

I remember when Barb Jones said her youngest son would cry and beg to stay home from school on the Monday after a Tennessee loss. And both Dooleys talked about having to sit down with their kids and try to explain why UT fans said the things they said on message boards and social media. It's the world we live in... but still. Like you say, sometimes, we forget.

Some of my comments were better left unwritten today. For penance, I'm going to watch Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channel with the family. Of course, this was met with a suspicious "Why? What'd you do?" The world we live in...
Nothing should ever be directed towards a coach's family. Inversely, a coach's family should not read message boards. This is where fans vent. Sometimes justly, sometimes not, but it's not a place for a coach's family because, let's face it, criticism comes with the job.

Lately, his press conferences are sounding more and more like Saban's press conferences and the media in Tennessee will skewer him if he keeps that tone with them.
I donโ€™t think Pruitt is self-aware enough to realize that you get away with that tone if you win like Saban does. He probably thinks itโ€™s OK because Saban does it.

Couldn't find the game. sigh

Man I hope we get some things seriously straight (shooting, passing, rebounds, shot selection) or Cincy will humiliate us at home on Saturday. Lots of talent but you can see we haven't practiced and have a bunch of young guys.

Cincy isnโ€™t that good.
