Yea I think that’s where the tampering is going to happen. Thru handlers and hs coaches and really nothing the ncaa can do

But yea the say too much poster says the contact was direct which is clearly tampering
He said us, that's rather ambiguous.

Vandy is down to 45 scholarship players this weekend and hasn’t won a game all season. If UT loses this game Pruitt better be fired before the sun rises Sunday morning.

It would be the worst loss in program history. Maybe worst than Ga St. I don’t see it happening but then again, Gump is still coach and JG is still on the sidelines.

Some may wait to see if the one time transfer rule is passed. Some may leave because of coaches leaving which probably won't happen until after the first of the year.

Yes and some may not.

I feel like we’re tryna worry about stuff that hasn’t happened and there have been no signs of it happening. The team keeps saying they’re all bought in and everyone on VN is like “nah they’re lying, they’re all gonna transfer”.

That’s not to say a couple won’t transfer. That’s pretty normal.

Here's the bottom line to me:

Bringing Pruitt back is a dumb decision because it flat out isn't going to work. There are no pass rushers on this team, and no SEC-level, difference-making linebackers, cornerbacks or safeties on the roster to pick up the slack in coverage. The defensive side of the ball has been thoroughly mismanaged due to a lack of talent and development.

Now, some of you argue that with good QB play we can overcome it. I'd say that's probably true to an extent. So, you're telling me Jeremy Pruitt and Jim Chaney are going to come together on some way to make this an above average offense next year? No way - we've seen the evidence that it won't happen with Pruitt lording over the offense.

It could then be argued that Pruitt could fire Chaney or fire some assistants - maybe that'll help. But you get your best growth when players are in the same system, groomed by the same players for as many years as possible. You don't get growth by changing course for the third time in four seasons.

It's not going to work out. But that doesn't mean we aren't dumb enough to try it.

We are going to smoke Vandy. Eric gray will have 200+ yards. Hyatt will have 2 TDs. We still let them pass on us, though.

I don't think we see as many transfers as people assume. It's a weird environment right now.

1. eligibility didn't count, so teams may be able to pull back in players that would have otherwise graduated
2. less game tape how many of these guys are willing to try the NFL draft, when the NCAA is allowing them to return?
3. why leave a sure thing (scholarship) for an unknown when COVID restrictions will make it fairly difficult to visit/meet coaches?

Oh they’re dumb enough alright and they’ll try with all their incompetent might.

You can buy all the spin you want that we're "unleashed" in the transfer market and "the dogs are out" on the recruiting trail, but that stuff it too little, too late.

This ship has run aground - the only decision now is whether to hop off or designate one corner a bathroom and hunker down.

I think it's new territory. I think the new transfer rule makes it abnormal. I think we'll see a higher than usual number. Not only will it make it easier for the kids to transfer, it will make it easier for coaches to push kids out the door. Add that to the staff being flipped again, I could see players leaving that don't care for their new position coach. Also, I could see kids following their position coach to their new team.

Best instate recruiting year we have probably ever had is in 22. Can’t keep a dead man walking. The transfer portal is going to eat us alive cuz everyone sees the writing on the wall. The state of our program is sad to watch. It will only get worse. Saturday’s are just not fun anymore.. thanks administrators.. f you

The more @Kingston Vol posts, the less convinced I am he actually has any sources or ties to the program.

No offense though, @Kingston Vol.
Totally fine with me.

None of this **** matters, man. We're all here giving opinions and posting what our cousin's cousin told us at the grocery store last Tuesday night. I don't need any insider status or e-cred, none of you know who I am and I don't know who any of you are.

We're all fans - and I like discussing the program and the coaching carousel both in Knoxville and around the country. I have no interest in recruiting anymore and the football team has been impossible to follow passionately for the better part of a decade. So this is fun to talk about - if the fun ends and Pruitt is retained to 2021, I'll probably head back over to the Grizzlies and Braves threads.
