I don’t like @InVOLuntary but we text during the games like gentlemen. Check it at the door. Hate each other on your own time.
And I think your beef is with agents who have created this world in which “progress” through two seasons gets a new football coach an extension.
Absolutely no one complained about that extension when it was announced, because we all knew it was coming. Does it suck in hindsight? Sure. But every athletic director would have been forced to do it.
Love how the fans and everyone with an ounce of sense and intelligence is screaming “FIRE HIM” and Fulmer is just like “But I don’t wanna!”
Not sure of Mullen's thinking, but he probably has very little incentive to leave UF. He is very stable there, great recruiting base and fans and admin solidly behind him.Who hires Freeze first in the SEC?
Tennessee?
Auburn?
LSU?
Florida?
Only chance Mullen moves on from Florida is for a job like Texas or an NFL job. However, he might never be more in line for one of those jobs with what he's done with Trask than right now.
If everything goes south with Oregeron, I believe LSU could kick the tires on a coach who beat Alabama twice while coaching in the SEC.
Auburn will possibly do it if they decide to move on from Gus.
Tennessee could do it, should do it, but likely won't do it because Phil has a 15 year grudge against him or something like that.
Ive attempted to do my best to find reasons not to fire him. There are coaches who get canned for less, ill say that. Continuity is important, but, part of coaching is to do the homework and complete the equation of Potential Hire + Assistant Coach Vacancy = Good Hiring Decision.Yes he did.
I think we may see those out outs in January or maybe sooner. The only thing I’ll say about Pruitt is that the team is still bought in and we haven’t had massive numbers of opt outs and many of our best recruits are still committed and have reaffirmed their commitments.
So there is a chance that it isn’t nearly as bad as we make it out to be. The losses are bad yes, absolutely. But I mean in terms of the team quitting.
So there’s that. Anddddd that’s about it.
AV, if you choose to believe him, let us know that Fulmer has hitched his wagon to Pruitt. Enough said. The something you said that stinks is Pruitt. Fulmer is choosing to throw himself into that same stinch which will ultimately be his downfall, for as much good as he may have done in the past.Ive attempted to do my best to find reasons not to fire him. Fulmer has righted the ship, he made the best decision given the circumstances. He has gotten other sports fixed, much better than his predecessors who **** the bed.
So, i'm done with the Fahr Fulmer talk. That is just stupidity at this point.
Anyone hoping we lose to Vandy for sake to fire a coach is also, in same boat. However, winning isnt foregone. We shoulda beaten KY & Ark, who is bad.
No easy way to slice it. This staff bears a heavy price tag, and, something stinks. I question is wiping slate clean is most effective at this point? I think you keep Chaney, and make him coach QB's. Move Nieds and demote or can Weinke. Friend is gone.
Bring in a LB coach, and, RB coach if Graham leaves.
The only reason Fulmer is the AD is because he took over in a unique, emergency situation. That was a coup, basically. It's analogous to a government being overthrown and there being a power vacuum, and that led to a situation where someone who otherwise would not be able to get into that position got into that position.I’m sure getting UT back to the top is his main goal. But maybe he’s just not cut out for the job. Just because he was a great coach doesn’t make him a great AD.
It’s my main goal to get UT to the top also. Should I be AD?
