Looking like the UT and OM games with aTm may flip. SEC has asked UT to be flexible, but with OM on lockdown till at least midweek, flipping the games is the best shot at giving aTm the full 10 games.
had a feeling. and it would allow us to just be done after this weekend. which i think is best.

One thing I noticed of the few snaps I could actually stomach was that Bailey had actual pocket presents. Felt pressure, moved away from it. Something I have not seen in a UT QB in years.
Was going to mention that as well.
I was hammered by the time JT got in, but didn’t he take nearly as many sacks in his pt as HB did the entire game?

It may not be very ethical, but at this point I don’t see a move being made with Pruitt until after Early Signing Day.

Get the early signees locked up, make a move and then give the new coach the chance to convince those he wants to say and release those he doesn’t.

I want us to play Vandy & a bowl game still. But only if Bailey or JT is starting/playing the lion's share of the snaps. But if Pruitt plans to trot out JG to start any of the remaining games then I say Saturday should be the last game.

yep., he sucked at seeing pressures.....but i agree, in general, his pocket *presents was pretty good for a true freshman....you can work with that. he needs some work in the off season, but i didn't see anything that scared me away from thinking he can be good for us....relatively soon.
We rarely blocked anyone on the blitzes though. Fant just stepped to the side on the one the knee was down. The guy blitzing was back there in less than a second, untouched, on that one and the grounding.

i think that has a lot to do with Kennedy being out and not having protections called correctly in those situations and Bailey not knowing necessarily which protection to check to....

that's just stuff that comes with experience, and if you're looking for a silver lining, it's that is now on film, so as teachable moments go, there were a few in that game for the centers and the qb's.

Both Shrout and Bailey are good QBs that can help UT. They're the best two QBs on the roster, and neither have been given much of a shot. Shrout wasn't a last-minute desperation recruit like some have claimed. Helton thought highly of him. When Helton left, Shrout became the forgotten guy. If he didn't have a GF at UT, he might've transferred to Cal, and that would have been much better for his development. It's late in the season, but let's see what they can do.

This transfer waiver rule has me concerned. I think it's really going to hurt teams like Tennessee. Winning programs come and just cherry pick the best players on struggling teams. I think it could devastate the vols roster this spring.
it has to become "a thing" first.

but yeah, if it does, it could hurt....i don't think firing pruitt necessarily changes that either....would just be one of those things we'd have to endure to press reset again.

You're assuming we have players worthy of being picked up by good teams

And JT Shrout is not Joe Burrow

I’m plenty on the Freeze train right now but come on mane
I didn't say he was Burrow. I said "Burrow like story." He doesn't have to win the Heisman. But nobody expected Burrow to set the world on fire. I could absolutely see Freeze taking Shrout and turning him into a high level QB for us with 25-30 td's in a season. He's also got mobility as well similar to that of Burrow.

i'd play 'em both as much as possible and go in to next year with a legit qb competition. both guys could benefit from that.
