My only counter with what you posted is that Covid has affected everyone. Why do other teams look competent and we look like a bad FBS team. Very unorganized and amateurish team. Sales mistakes every week. Still can't cover a slant. Can we not dedicate one freaking practice to holding inside leverage and cover a #$%&ing slant? And remember, he's a defensive mastermind and DB guru. Has way overrated as a defensive guy. He's always had the best players on the field that can camouflage his ineptitude. His next job better be where has got the best talent because if not hes going back to coach DBs at some Alabama high school.

For the most part, I agree. I think he's still a better X's and O's coach than most would agree but no one can ignore this season's complete inability to cover a simple slant route, ANY SLANT ROUTE, and the utter failure to make any impactful adjustments at halftime.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not holding JP's water. He's got his warts.

I'm just not looking forward to another coaching search (which I don't think is coming this season anyway).

You can thank Fulmer for that. His 3 finalist were Pruitt, Mel Tucker, and Kevin Steele...he said he wanted a defensive coach and pointed to the success of Bama and Georgia.

Both of which run a modern offense too. We can have both.

That’s an easy read.. I see why he’s pist. It’s 3rd and 11, AT made the wrong read. Even if that dude catches it in the flight he still has to run 11 yards.

That’s the problem with our guys, the situational awareness is non existent. Which reverts back to coaching.
