Jamey Chadwell (Coastal Carolina)

I was one of the ones saying to hire Kiffin. Fulmer doesn’t like him, so he is out anyways. But if we just gonna hire another mediocre guy, we might as well ride this out. Pruitt does know talent, and does recruit pretty good. He just needs to be HC, get a real Offensive guy and let him handle the offense and Ansley can handle the D.

Kiffin isn’t half the coach that Matt Campbell is.

He posts winning seasons, something Tennessee can do only every few years now. His overall record is 52-22 which puts him at a .70 winning clip. So exactly how is your statement even remotely correct?
Why would we hire Herman? If you can’t win at Texas you won’t win at Tennessee.
His floor is 7 wins and his ceiling is 10. I’ll take that after the past few coaches we have had. He’s 4-0 in bowls. He smoked Georgia regardless of the excuse let’s be real, Tennessee can’t beat a sleep walking Georgia right now.

He posts winning seasons at Texas? Well let’s sign him up!!!! There’s a reason he’s on the hot seat. If he can’t compete for championships in the B12, what makes you think that he’ll be able to do so at Tennessee?

His floor is 7 wins, in the B12. Texas is arguably the best job in the country. He’s 31-18 in his four seasons there. Let’s not act like he’s lighting it up. Again, there’s a reason he’s on the hot seat.

He’s on the hot seat to upgrade to Urban... it’s not like he’s getting replaced by Jamie chadwell. If you would turn your nose at Tom Herman then thank god you aren’t an AD.

Freeze would have to be the #1 option. He has proven he can beat Bama and done so multiple times. Those other coaches are good coaches but no experience beating the caliber of teams like Freeze had to when he was beating SEC teams and had ole miss #1 at one point. He had a great offense snd great defense. Remember the land sharks.
And why did he leave Ole Miss? Asking for a friend...

He’s on the hot seat regardless if Texas can hire urban. And yes I don’t want Texas’s sloppy seconds.

Freeze is my number 1 fwiw. I would put Herman number 2. He at least beats SCAR, Vandy, Kentucky, and Missouri year in and year out and has shown he can beat Georgia. You could absolutely do worse.

How am I being a clown? By advocating against hiring a guy who can’t compete for championships at arguably the best job in the country?
He sure as **** pulled Texas out of the pit that Charlie strong put them in. Tennessee isn’t remotely close to Texas right now and advocating against a coach who could actually put the ship back on course and make Tennessee a competitive university again is stupid. Yes, you probably have to hire a new coach that’s a championship coach but that’s easier when you’re separating from a perennial 9 win team and coach opposed to trying to hire one after Dooley, Butch, and Pruitt have destroyed it.

How do you know that he beats SC, Mizzou, Vandy, and Ky year in and year out? The same Tom Herman who is 1-3 vs TCU? The same Tom Herman who is 2-2 against both Iowa St and Oklahoma St?

Iowa st and Oklahoma St are better than those teams. Matt Campbell and the Mullet man as well as Gary Patterson are far superior coaches than Muschamp and whoever Vandy hires. Eli at Missouri I think could be a damn good coach but he’s limited at that university.

Love that hybrid pistol/single wing offense he puts on the field. That is his offense and it is as innovative as anything you are going to see on the football field this year.

His team put on a show against Brigham Young and the coaching staff put in a game plan designed to take advantage of their athletic ability and team speed/quickness to overcome BYU's depth and physical advantages.

I'd like to learn more about his career as a head coach, from North Greenville to CC, to get a sense of his strengths as a program-builder and any role he had to play in Charleston Southern's department-wide NCAA probation. The fact he was able to remain in the game and avoid a "show cause" from the Indy Mafia tells me his role in that was minimal.

He strikes me as a Tressell-type. A guy who has paid his dues on a lower level and is just biding his time for a P5 program to hire him.

Seems an obvious choice for South Carolina. Knows the state. Knows the high schools. Proven winner.

But as they are perpetually stuck on stupid in Columbia, they'll look somewhere else and someone else will get an experienced hand who will get the job done.

You’re just arguing a conference bias with little to no context. That’s your prerogative and cool. You’re going to be hard pressed to get anyone to agree with you that Tom Herman wouldn’t be a hell of a hire if it were possible. It’s Sunday so I have to hope Titans don’t fall on their face against the browns. Have a good one man and stay safe!

I like the Tressel comparison. The guy can coach. The kids wanna play for him. He has experience running a D1 football program. Who cares if it's power 5? He clearly knows what he is doing.

I still think the jury is out on him, time will tell. If we gonna go that route, I’d take Billy Napier. He has at least worked under a few of the big boys.

Tennessee has got to stop with the cheaper hires. You pay freeze or potentially Herman 6-7 mil to come here. Bargain bin hires won’t cut it because the fans aren’t going to give 5 years to a coach.

Excuse me, Herman?!?!?! LOL. The guy who has had Texas “back” like 4 different times but really they’re nowhere close to being back. Our fanbase is idiotic.

No. Give me just about anyone else.

Herman was an improvement over Charlie Strong. He beat Georgia which we can’t do, and talking about idiotic... imagine having a glorified Manny Ramirez wannabe who went from the Red Sox to the dodgers as your avi.
