No question, HB should be the starter now. I get if he wasn’t ready at first. I get if JG knew the play book better and had better chemistry early. I get if Shrout scared the staff and Maurer had outside issues that no one should knock. There is zero doubt in my mind (not a football expert by any stretch) that HB is the best QB on the team. He showed it on the field. Play calling was questionable at times (like always) but seriously, he just went and played the right way. We have so much talent on this team, I hope Pruitt post game is just coach speak and he sees what everyone else sees. If so, and he keeps recruiting, we seriously are so close to being really good. Put this in the game thread but had to copy to get @Bassmaster_Vol and @HankHill thoughts.

Our defense was absolutely horrendous. I’ve literally never seen someone say “man our defense did really good, we held a team to 452 yards....”

If we can hold every one of our opponents to their lowest pt totals for the season I’ll be happy every game

Also, another thing Bailey did well tonight. After Jahmir kinda got chippy he got in his ear and settled him down. Now, since Jahmir is an upper classmen that may not set well with him, but Bailey can use that with the freshman and set the tone. Its something to build off of

You are completely dismissing the fact that in the last what 5 games... we haven’t been able to solve the issues of our Safeties inability to actually cover someone or our LBs ability to cover someone or our corners inability to stop an inside release? (With three “Bye” weeks as well)

How hard is it to coach kids to do this? If you keep allowing it to happen as a starter why are you the starter? Our defense played awful and kept making the same mistakes they’ve made all year. They aren’t good and they played like crap.

Any team that plays us is literally going to throw to the middle of the field and is going to run drags to bring our safeties up to then throw over the top of them because they are out of position because they are awful.

Throws can be coaches up and improved upon but what cannot is the intangibles. Leadership (aka settling Jahmir down) the internal clock to get the ball out, taking off and running and laying it all out there. Not just standing there watching when you throw a pick. There are a lot of little things that make Bailey something to build upon.

Question, is Campbell to unproven for you guys? I mean he’s got Iowa State as a top 10 team in the nation, I’ve always thought he’s been slightly overrated. He’s done an incredible job this year and they’ve got a culture in place. Shoot I don’t even know if he would take the job honestly.

I’m trying to figure out where his “slow throwing motion” hindered his throws.... he fit every pass into every window it needed to be in when he threw does it matter what his arm looked like when he did this? When he needed to get the ball out quick he did.
