Good morning VN,
Took me a while to get to the point where I could share this.

My 18 year old son has now been in drug rehab for 2 weeks. He started vaping, then graduated to vapes with THC. 4 days before my birthday, he fell down our stairs because he was too stoned. He was unable to even be coherent. Scared me to death. Took him to the nearest ER, he was okay once he cleared. Was stoned again on my birthday. Then swore to his counselor and myself that he was done (having a drug buy already set up for that same day.)
He agreed that he had a problem when I did a urine drug screen and it came back positive for nicotine, THC, Benzodiazepines, Tramadol, and Fentanyl. I did believe him when he said that he was only vaping. He realized that the vapes were being juiced by the dealers with stronger stuff.

He will hopefully come home a week from tomorrow. I am praying that he will understand how dangerous his activities were and that addiction is a lifelong issue.

If I could ask for prayers for his safe return and future, I would greatly appreciate it.

My children are my world, I think that he agreed to go to rehab because I told him that he was literally killing me. He could see the truth of that in my eyes.

Thank you very much VolNation.
My heart goes out to you, doc! Prayers for your son and you/your family. Vapes are dangerous for so many reasons.

I've seen 2 of the stupidest penalties in this high school football state champ game then ive seen in my life. They called an illegal conference because they weren't socially distanced in the huddle. Stupid as hell

I’m so sorry. Praying he gets help he needs. My cousin was like this at this age, but worse, cigarettes were a gateway to some pretty horrendous things. Ten years later he is married, two children, fervent Christ follower, and Executive Director of renewed life ministries. As scripture says... With God... anything! I hope his journey to recovery is much shorter than my cousin. He already seems like he’s understanding that he’s not just hurting himself. Prayers, friend.
Thank you. Me too 🙏

Doc, I’d highly recommend “Discovery Place” in Dickson, TN. My little brother and my wife’s cousin came back from hard drugs to being the clean, solid, hard working dudes everyone thought they’d be. It’s run by a great bunch of dudes who’ve also “been there, done that.”

Thank you. He is in a place here in Texas now. I think that the next step when he is discharged is the scariest part. 🙏

Prayers, doc! I have a similar story about my sister. ER trip and everything. Scary and concerning times. Thankfully, she’s been sober for over three years now, and doing great. Wishing all the best for you and your family!
