This is a good question for the game tomorrow....

Would you rather us be aggressive and blitz like crazy, but risk big plays?

Or

Be more conservative and risk death by a thousand paper cuts?

I think most people expect us to lose. And we have experienced the “death by a thousand cuts” pretty much every game this year.

Maybe try the exciting alternative? It probably won’t work to 100% satisfaction, but maybe it has a chance of rattling Trask, or getting our defense excited, or ... SOMETHING positive!

It’s been discussed since KY. Got more steam the last 2 weeks. Doubt has spread to the higher ups.

Things could get interesting real quick. He’s got people in his corner but also has people doubting the direction of the program
Now we’re talking. Like I’ve said, December 6th. I think the Florida game does it for Pruitt.

Because minorities don’t get that chance as often. Is Charlie strong the only black candidate we’ve ever interviewed?

I don't really want into this conversation, but really??? I don't know who all has been interviewed, and I suspect no one else on this board does either. But you're talking about the first SEC school to sign a black scholarship football player (Lester McClain), started the first black quarterback (Condredge Holloway) in the SEC, and the first SEC school to hire a black head coach for a major sport (BBall - Wade Houston). UT isn't perfect when it comes to color-blindness by any means, but it has shown more interest in providing opportunity than the rest of the conference. If one of the hot name coaches were black, I don't think there'd be any hesitation to interview them if we had an open position.

I asked because I feel like the only sure things out there are probably Urban, Saban, Dabo, Chris Petersen, Spurrier, and maybe Bob Stoops. They’re not coming here, and a lot of them are probably done for good.

I don’t even know who the next tier would be. Then, of course, you have the coach McGoogle crowd where we’ve been having to settle. Realistically, yet ideally, we’d shop in the crowd somewhere between the Mt. Rushmore of college ball and coach McGoogle. IMO, that’s gonna be someone that has proven they can win as HC in D1 ball for a minimum sample of 3-5 years. To me huge turnarounds and/or conference championships give them points. NFL experience may give them points with recruits as far as development. Going by those criteria, there are three that stand out to me: Sarkisian, Marrone, and O’Brien. Campbell doesn’t have the NFL experience, but I’d put him in there too because he’s the type of giant killer our program needs.

If we are taking a chance on an up and comer, I like Napier or Neal Brown.

Freeze would be phenomenal, but I just don’t see that hire getting all the necessary people (both inside and outside of the program) to sign off on it.
I do tend to believe that if we make a move we'll hire a sitting head coach or someone with a ton of experience, I'm just not sure what level I think that person is at this point.

go for broke. on both sides of the ball.

It's not like he hasn't had his opportunities. He's dropped a bunch of catchable balls this year. Younger guys may just be better than him and he sees the writing on the wall.

Agree. He has a lot of talent but has had so many chances that he has just dropped. You got a group of explosive playmakers that need a shot.

I don’t think you can “go for broke” on offense.

Imo the number one goal tomorrow and maybe the only goal is to leave the game feeling like HB is a dude going forward. If you go for broke and give him too much that might set him back significantly for the future

Get Fagan from FSU, and Williams from Miami, instant starters in the secondary. I will never complain again plzzzzzzzzzzzzz 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼 🤣🤣🤣

you can do whatever you want, especially if you're gonna play HB....and going for broke doesn't necessarily mean i want him tossing it 50 times.....

but there are packages in that playbook that have never seen the light of day....time to start getting reacquainted with those, and thrown the kitchen sink at these guys.

and it even makes more sense to do that if one of your goals is to get some juice injected back in to this team.

Sit back in zone and make them drive the ball. Hope for some tipped balls or fumbles. Shorten the game

our pass rush is so bad we can’t get home anyway
Sounds like our defensive game plan this year and it hasn’t worked through 4 quarters because teams will slant us to death. Pruitt better start figuring out a pass rush or this game will be over in the first quarter.

Im just saying if HB makes some mistakes early and we fall behind by a decent margin i am perfectly fine with calling the rest of the game with protecting the young QB with our play calling.

Suprisingly the gambling experts like TN to cover. They preface that it’s TN but everything data wise says take TN points. They believe we can run on them and control the clock but I don’t think they are including the covid issues we have had and I don’t know what OL is going to look like but people are hinting it will be different bc of the covid contact tracing issue.

So i am expecting that we will try to slow game down and attempt to limit possessions by controlling the run game if our OL whoever is out there can be successful. A lot of unknowns without knowing who all got caught up in tracing.

It’s not the first quarter I’m worried about, it’s the third....
