....be sure look me up on twitter and insta and check out our new home page...........So John Brice was on 1045 in Nashville today.
Two things of interest:
We know Herman is out at Texas, but he said he'd be stunned if Meyer took that job. He said watch Hugh Freeze here if they don't get Meyer.
When asked about Jeremy Pruitt's job status, "everything is on the table."
It's hard to believe, but Pruitt is far less liked than Butch was at this stage. Even if I've seen some folks argue he should get another year, I've not heard anyone really suggest they like the guy or think it's going to work out.
I think a combination of the raise and extension plus *his* assistants not taking pay cuts have really done him in - not to mention his generally prickly attitude, both publicly and behind the scenes.
Lol it may not sound like anything revolutionary, but in the context of the way it was asked, it was pretty telling.....be sure look me up on twitter and insta and check out our new home page...........
No - I think it's because in his year 3, Butch had an 8-4 regular season with the losses coming by a combined 17 points. Two of the four losses were to CFP teams, including the national champ. He wasn't losing to Georgia St or to Kentucky at home by 30 points.Because he’s a bamer
I agree. But he did (apparently) interview him, Briles, and Lebby last go around. He seems at least open, but wasn't ready for a drastic change 2 years ago. Maybe this year will break him of that.Pruitt would have to VASTLY change his philosophy regarding how much input he has regarding the offensive side of the ball.
But that's exactly what we're going to do. It's the Tennessee way, we will end up with about half the number we want and mist if the more highly regarded prospects will go elsewhere. It's what we do, and then we'll convince ourselves that we got the better players we wanted.2022 TN in state class is loaded. Can’t have a lame duck coach and let this in state crop slip away. There are probably about 12-14 TN players that we want

The Florida and Oklahoma losses were kicks to the nuts that shouldn't have happened, but the trajectory of the program was up. Pruitt's trajectory has fallen off a cliff this year.
Exactly, Butch wasnt great but at least kept it between the lines to this point in his Tennessee career. Pruitt has us in the ditch year three. No - I think it's because in his year 3, Butch had an 8-4 regular season with the losses coming by a combined 17 points. I highly doubt it. If Butch won only 2 conference games in year 3, and he had a loss to say, Utah St or Arkansas St already on his record from the previous season, Butch's seat would have been just as hot then as Pruitt's is now.Well sure. I agree with that but the overall vibe flipped on Pruitt much sooner because the patience for a bamer isn’t ever going to long

I think a little bit of the heat on Pruitt is a carry over from last year. The winning streak was nice, but none of those victories were over quality teams and the beginning of the season was an utter disaster. Outside of that winning streak, Pruitt has been a disaster here. I don't think that's an exaggeration. Butch's first 3 years were much better than Pruitt's even though Butch's knowledge about the game is probably a fraction of Butch's.
I agree that being a Bammer redneck certainly doesn't help him curry favor with fans when he's struggling, but performance on the field is so paramount in this business. I really don't think the fact that he's a Bammer has put any more heat on him than otherwise would be there. If the team was performing well, nobody cares about a refusal to take pay cuts either. In fact, if we were good and they refused pay cuts the reaction from the fans would probably be "Good for them! They've earned every penny!" That kind of stuff is all ancillary and only matters if you're losing. Same thing with player discipline. Some folks partially blaming Pruitt and his "lack of leadership" or "bad culture" for Bennett getting into trouble. Would anybody say that if we were winning?i didn’t mean it to be a comparison with butch
The op mentioned that fans had turned on Pruitt because of his assistants not taking pay cuts and how he treats it others. Of course the on field product is the most important thing but him being as bamer red neck is more of a factor that what the op said imo
