Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

dims are dumb: Not all are dumb, some are, most are misguided people who live life through immature feelings instead of using actual logic and reason. Again not all of them. Is there any point with my continuing on reading with this confirmation of stupidity/ignorance in your reply?

deny COVID exists: I've not seen anyone say COVID doesn't exist, i have seen people say that they don't worry about a virus that kills .000001% of elderly people and those with comorbidities

deny masks and social distancing works if there really is COVID: Again, no one is denying COVID exists, but like myself and others here who actually work in healthcare, the mask thing is just mostly a placebo What do you do in healthcare ? - please don't say you are the floor mopper? I thought you were a retired cop

claim Trump won, the election was rigged: I don't think Trump will end up winning, and i don't think the entire election was "rigged". However there are some definite discrepancies in 4-5 major cities that won the election overall that should warrant further investigation. The only rigging was in 4-5 major cities that won the election?? Really

rioting and looting Blacks are the Bain of the world: I think anyone who riots or loots regardless of their skin color are the "bane" of the world and should be arrested, don't you? Yes I do

caravans of brown people are invading our southern border to rape our women: Again not all of them, but they all are criminals if doing it illegally, and many of them ARE rapists and murderers and gang members Got published stats? While you're at it how many have made contributions to our society?

tax cuts don’t create deficits: If you believe letting people keep more of their own money creates "deficits" and not government overspending, you have no clue of economics 101. Here is Economics 101 If you spend more than you make you run a deficit. If you're running a deficit and then intentionally decrease your income (taxes) you create a bigger deficit

Obama was the worst president ever: No he wasn't. Jimmy Carter and Ulysses Grant probably were, with the guys like Benjamin Harrison getting an "incomplete"

you suffer from TDS: Do you? No I'm guilty of judging Trump on what he says and does. He is the worst President in my lifetime based solely on his actions. Add his tax cuts to those of Reagan and G.W. and we can't grow

it was fair for the GOP senate not to permit witnesses at Trumps senate trial: The Dems would do the exact same thing, and that was all a political joke of a conspiracy theory

there was no collusion: There wasn't

and you’d all do AOC the favor of doing her: No i don't have sex with airhead bartenders who couldn't spell her name if it wasn't for initials

then bait someone into a basketball game and then hide like the pu$$y you are when you realize you’re in over your head: LOL you need a therapist, or medications

And there you have it from a resident rightie

Sure you will discuss - here’s the “discussion” righties have - dims are dumb, deny COVID exists, deny masks and social distancing works if there really is COVID, claim Trump won, the election was rigged, rioting and looting Blacks are the Bain of the world and caravans of brown people are invading our southern border to rape our women, tax cuts don’t create deficits, Obama was the worst president ever, you suffer from TDS, it was fair for the GOP senate not to permit witnesses at Trumps senate trial, there was no collusion, and you’d all do AOC the favor of doing her, then bait someone into a basketball game and then hide like the pu$$y you are when you realize you’re in over your head.

righties are all wonderful, Sea Ray.

You make my point. Rather than copy/paste my comments, you just post a bunch of bilge. My comments on your style are dead on. You proved that above

Not sure if I have given an update on my parents. They continue to be fine. Both are more tired than usual but have enough energy to do some stuff during the day. But if its physical they need a nap afterwords. But they are both in their mid to upper 60s and my mom did just have a surgery. Dads symptoms, fever and cough with slight taste loss, beside tired, only lasted a day. Mom has a slight cough. Like one cough every 4 or 5 minutes of talking.

They say they feel better everyday than the day before.

I wish it went this smoothly for everyone.

It is my choice how I reply to your post - - it's called freedom of speech. Righties want to invalidate everything that doesn't conform to "their way" or their belief of what should be

This isn't about your rights or your choices. Yes, you have the right/choice to post bilge but it's still bilge and it's worthless

The cancel culture is being driven by righties?

Also no freedom of speech on a message board. Just sayin

You seem to have trouble comprehending your own posts. Go back to your beginning post to me in this subject. Do a do over

your posting style is open to critique - that's freedom of speech as well.

Cancelling would be if someone tried to get you banned for your posting style and no one is doing that.

Now please elaborate why you are not in favor of testing for COVID and why you see yourself as more of an expert than the CDC
I'm not sure what you are talking about. We test quite a few patients every day -- if symptoms warrant, if it is required by a school or employer, and/or there are concerns about exposure to an at-risk family member. We are probably averaging 1-5 positives per day now that respiratory season is upon us.

I do not remember claiming to be "more of an expert than the CDC," so maybe you can provide that quote while you are fishing for the nonsense about "morphing."

Great news, LV. Thanks for the update.

I have not read anything about it. That is a medication to fight worms and bugs, and knowing it's MOA, I can't imagine how it would be helpful for a viral infection or the ensuing inflammation cascade.

Well viruses and parasites do have a little in common in that they need to infect other cells for their survival

I’ve given you my reply on my “morphing” comment

Based on your reply here and now it appears I was wrong about you being anti testing which thought was the basis of implying you knew more than the CDC. Apologies to you on both counts

Its amazing how that works.

"If you disagree with me you re obviously try to squelch my freedom of speech."

"Actually, no, Im telling you that you are stupid. Feel free to continue."

That's some spiffy science you're spouting there.

The virus doesn't travel on its own. It goes out carried by respiratory droplets. Those droplets can be stopped (at least partially), and their velocity decreased, by the use of masks, reducing the amount that are put out into the world and the distance they travel.

Would you prefer to walk across a field with 10000 mines or a field with 50? You're not guaranteed of safe passage in either scenario, but I sure do prefer my odds on the field with fewer mines.

Tiny droplets and tiny virus = standard mask usless.

The Danish mask study that was finally released indicated that there is no real difference between wearing a mask or not and getting infected with the virus. The CDC also indicated that 85 percent of people infected with COVID wore masks and got it anyways. When confronted with this fact the CDC said that masks do not necessarily protect the wearer from getting the virus. The goal was to lessen the chances of a sick person spreading it. In my opinion the effectiveness of that is even questionable. For example, 66 percent of people during a certain time period in April or May that caught COVID in NYC stayed home and isolated due to the lock downs. These were people that obeyed the orders and didn't go anywhere and still caught it. Why? Airflow between apartment buildings. Now if it travels that easily between peoples homes, why would anyone think that a thin piece of cloth would protect them from the dreaded virus that has a 99 percent plus survival rate? Look it up if you don't believe me.

The ease of spread you're also showing means that most of us have already had and passed the virus and probably didn't even realize it.

Divisions emerge among U.S. officials over when first COVID-19 vaccine doses will be available — and for whom — STAT

Again, I see no reason for not offering vaccine to at risk (over 65, long term facility residents) population first. There have been relatively few cases and deaths among healthcare workers. And if those most likely to get sick enough to need the healthcare system are vaccinated, it would therefore reduce even further the risk to its workers.

It is going to health care workers because many of them are missing work due to the virus. It puts a strain on the system and hospitals have to divert patients in need to other facilities (if available). McRib's hospital went on diversion a few weeks ago due to an increase of patients. They remained on diversion because so many staff members are out for quarantine or infection.

Makes sense, but it seems like they’d still want to limit the inflow of sick patients as well.
