And when he's up with no body on base and no outs and the defense is giving him 25 yards of open space on the left side of 2nd. I'd expect a veteran to take advantage of that. Instead of a bounce to the shortstop on the right side of 2nd for an easy out.

No I want him hitting doubles and home runs not singles, especially when before 2019 he had nobody worth a damn hitting behind him.

The reason they gave him all that is because the defense wants him to bunt down the line and not do damage. Those teams will take a single every single time.
