It's a problem every coach wishes they had, and they're prepared to lose players once the cream rises to the top. I'm sure they'd rather be in a position where you have a team full of superstars fighting for minutes than trying to win games against teams like that.
Every coach but Gino. He only goes eight or nine deep ever and just most of his minutes to his starters

You said that before and I showed you that if he has the players good enough to get minutes, he will get them minutes.

In 2020 there is only 11 on the roster with a project in the 6'5" freshman Gabriel and a walkon. So finding good minutes for the remaining 9 players will not be a problem.

2021 is a different story with 15 players. That is something Geno has never had to deal with. But you can shrink that number with the walk on still there and the possibility that Westbrook goes pro. That would be 13. Should be interesting to see how he handles it.

You know that is how TN used to be right? Worked out pretty well.

Tennessee routinely had 5-6+ AAs was when Holly was mis-coaching them, and they were consistently losing to Alabama. The last time Tennessee had a real coach, they brought in back-to-back monster recruiting class with Bjorklund's class and Shekinna's class...and they had some transfers and probably would have had more if not for some unfortunate injuries.

In the years I've been watching WCBB, I have never seen a team as stacked as UConn and SC will be next season.

He had an injury this summer that required him to have brain surgery and stated that because of that he's decided he can no longer give his all to coaching... awful news for him

Sad to hear this. I had wondered how he was doing. Hope he enjoys some more time with his family. Unfortunate for his players with the timing.

One thought though...what about the recruits that signed to play for him yesterday? Sure hope they were told before this. I would be ticked if I signed and my coach left the next day without giving a heads up.

An interesting interview with Auriemma about the 2021 class that at least partially addresses players and "positions" that have been discussed here. He talks about being hamstrung by having to play kids in only certain positions. He said that he has recruited 2021 players that can play in multiple positions something he hasn't has the last couple of years.

On edit - I just read a different Auriemma interview in a local paper. Apparently Auriemma is so energized about the next few years that he has no intention of retiring soon. He is comparing the 2021 class to the Bird, Moore and Stewart classes.

Let other fans enjoy this season. After that, it will get very boring (again)...

I was on the ND site trying to see if they have us on their schedule and saw this (below) .... do you think this would add to the interest in the Game with Ucon?

Interesting tidbit on Geno, if they go undefeated the game to get him past Pat Summit as the winningest head coach of all time would be their game against Tennessee. While we dont like them, that is one ironic stars aligned type of moment, especially with Westbrook eligible this season.

As star aligned as that sounds there is one thing... The Big East is releasing there games in chunks so what you are counting is the December portion of the games. Uconn could easily have a conference game or two between Jan 7 and the 21st which might throw your number off a little :)

Auriemma scheduled softly through the ‘90’s and early 2000’s to assure that he would have that record for most wins inevitably before his retirement. Never been much suspense in that for those paying attention and loyally reading box scores over the years.

Are you saying he scheduled softly on purpose to be able to get more wins than Pat?

I'll buy that their schedule had plenty of cream puffs in those years but really? He did it to be able to beat Pat?
