Took the easy plays, but hated he didn't play to win more. Or that was possibly the coaches telling him to, who knows? Even the commentators said on air we were doing exactly what Arky wanted us to with the dump offs.

He has thrown 3 balls in 13 attempts that ended in hitting the opponents' hands. He is just a FR though...is what it is. Long way to go for him and he will be just fine. But rn the entire QB room is just not good. If our OL and RBs were as expected it might be ok, but they aren't very good either. Just sad all around.

Outside of bombing to Hyatt and Palmer, we just have no real threats smh

All true Suave, but at this point, he Chaney doesn’t even have a crompton or Simms! JC is straight handcuffed. agree tho, it all falls on JP.
Great OCs can make offense with less...by outscheming and simplifying. That's what sucks, Chaney NEEDS thoroughbreds. But they come and go and you won't always have those guys...as UGA is seeing rn.

Great OCs can plug and play different guys quite seamlessly.

If we're being real, he never should have let Ansley do it. I may be in the minority but I don't have a problem with a HC calling plays. The defense may have been better in year two but I just feel the play calling was better with Pruitt.
We don't have the horses to sit with a 4 man rush. Ansley is just too passive in his play calling.

I believe you are correct. It’s because Arkansas had not seen those defensive schemes from us..... I seriously think Pruitt started calling the defense. I think he tried to be hands off and let Ansley call the defense but he had, had enough of it.
Whatever works, I would love to see the same thing on Sat if we play. We are probably going to lose, but lose being aggressive.

Agreed. Pruitt just needs to realize that you also have to be able to be there for important moments etc on offense. Which is what he struggled with in year 1. He almost missed calling a timeout in one game because he was giving the defense a what’s what on the sideline and realized he needed to actually be a head coach.

So if he can multitask it now then he definitely should.

Also, I dunno if anyone saw but he cursed Weinke out for putting the “wildcat” formation in before Gray scored our first TD...... lol Weinke was like it wasn’t my call.

Yeah, I saw that. Im not sure if it was for the wildcat or for a sub that got in late.

Bingo. They played it perfectly and our OC had no other option but to dump it down and leave us with no time on the clock. Just weird. When the commentators know you're falling into their trap, that's bad.
What’s weird is, wth are we running 4 verticals right there in the first place? You could easily run some types of mesh routes with deep routes involved that give you more options.....

Thought the same thing. Course I couldn’t see what they were doing when they ran off the TV screen. Pruitt left us no TOs as well.

These words are coming from Pruitt though if you read the linked tweets...he’s literally throwing his own OC under the bus.you don’t do that kind of S**t publicly.ultimately he’s the HC make an adjustment.the problem is this year he’s showing 100% he can’t.Jim chaney is not a bad OC,not this bad anyways.we all remember him when he had Tyler bray..this is 100% Pruitt..

No he’s not. Many times he’s said that he’s involved with the play calling. He’s owning the issues as a staff

He talked to Bailey on the sideline, all he had to say at that point was look Harrison change the play if you have to but we need to go deep. Or even before you put your QB in that position get him mentally prepared. Didn’t seem like they gave him any leeway. We ran the same play like 7 times.

Yep our QB did exactly what the opponent wanted and our idiot fans said he looked poised.

He'll be fine once they get him into a game and not just throwing him in at the end. He hasn't even gotten to work with the WRS very much. He threw like 1200 passes in high school and only threw 28 ints with 120 tds.

Defense hasn't been aggressive at all this year. It's very different from last season.

Nope. Much like the offensive play calling, nothing exotic or aggressive. Pisses me off though. We need to see the defense at the end every game. If Bailey starts the next game they need to draw up something to get these athletes in mismatches and let his arm work! They have to start attacking offensively and quit being so damn passive. DB's must have the easiest game plans defending this offense. It's like all we throw are curls. It's old

Pruitt doesn’t know what he wants.... he says early in the year we need to run run run now when that isn’t working it’s “we aren’t aggressive in our calls” Chaney is working with someone who’s impossible to work for. Also I’m in the camp Chaney is washed as well.
Tbf our run game was expected to be much better this year. I believe many people espoused the same belief preseason to lean on the run game. You adjust as time goes on and vs your opponents. Arky had an elite pass defense and a mediocre run defense.

That said, I'm just shocked we took 0 shots to Hyatt/Palmer (one before the half to Johnson in just a silly spot) once our run game forced Arky to bring a safety down sometimes. Then again it took awhile iirc for the safety to finally pull down and then JG went out on drive 1 of H2...sort of killed things right then and there, but even Maurer should have been given that shot. We were so predictable.
