No one on the current staff is worthy of HC. Tee wouldn’t do much.... he’d just be hard to fire because he’s one of our own.

I’ve just got to say I have no interest in hiring Hugh Freeze because he will sell us down the road to save his own ass as soon as the NCAA comes calling.

I have no appetite for his hypocrisy even if the wins come with him.
Yeah I would much rather lose and be the bottom of the SEC than give a guy a second chance and actually look competent on the field.

We are really going to screw around and let Hugh Freeze go to South Carolina. Unbelievable!!! We are such a joke. Pruitt is done here, Fulmer has milked one national championship more than the 08’ Boston Celtics! He think he’s a legend well he is going to f around and be thought of as a part of the problem around UT.

Honestly, he’s the original start of this
Holding on to assistants too long, not adapting

Hell, I’d just like a “modern” offensive hire.

At least Dooley & Butch seemed aware of how to score. Neither should’ve been hired, but Kiffin forced us into a bad spot with Dooley and to his credit Butch had the track record everywhere else he’d been.

I really wish I knew what is was about UT that made coaches absolutely fail while on the hill. It's crazy how many coaches, especially assistants, come here and just forget how to to do basic coaching.

It's got to be an organizational or culture thing. Even Pruitt - it was clear he was fired up the first year or so, making aggressive calls in games, throwing fits, getting fired up...now he just seems like he doesn't GAS. What is it about UT that just breaks coaches?

Maybe it's us, the fans. I really don't know, but maybe we just expect too much too soon?

The vast majority of fans gave him all kinds of leeway. We knew the build would take years. Hell, we really even forgave him after GSU. I think this is one of the more patient fanbases.

I just don't get it. This is beyond a curse. Something is rotten and needs to be fixed.

They aren’t, the problem is Pruitt must be a micromanager. The worse kind of coach imo is one who hires guys but then constantly undermines them and tries to mold their philosophies to his own. Ya either trust your guys or ya don’t, and if the HC doesn’t trust his staff the players sure as hell won’t.
Saban can do it, but a first time HC cannot

He isn't developing what he gets though. Our players have somehow gotten worse from last season.

I see this but hear me out and y’all know I am upset as well. But these players were developing and we see guys getting paid like Taylor and Kyle Phillips. But everyone has not had to deal with Covid like we did. Knox County sucks and UT was not under same rules as most of state. You can’t develop in quarantine and not even getting all your fall practices. I think we can develop but 28 days of quarantine for some. In game management can be learned but maybe we will see better development now that the dens defeated the virus the last couple of days. Maybe we will see that next year if he’s retained. I also worried that Rocker is not only missed but will continue to be. Friend just needs to be gone but we’ve seen some good stuff from the line and they may be better with a bigger back and a good QB. Maybe some hope.

One thing I think we can all agree on:
Pruitt’s first two teams were much better coached than this team.

There is a noticeable regression in all areas of the game. I thought for sure we would come out this year and look more like an competitive SEC team. The first two games were underwhelming even though we won. The firing of Brumbaugh was weird. The handling of QB is weird. The lack of enthusiasm from the coaches and team is weird. We have no fire. No desire to play the game. You can blame Covid, but Arkansas, Kentucky, Alabama and UGA all wanted it.
We just seem mechanical - it seems a lot like 2008 - Fulmer’s last year with a lack of staff cohesion.
