Latest Coronavirus - Yikes

President Donald Trump on Monday claimed the worsening coronavirus outbreak in the United States is a “Fake News Media Conspiracy,” saying the nation only has the most cases in the world because “we TEST, TEST, TEST.”

SMH

Trumpsters here buying into this giant dung pile?

You know we can actually look up stats right ? Do me a favor and run the % on those numbers and tell us again about this devastating second wave .

Interesting. So you believe we have more actual cases than any other country. We have something like 4% of the world's population, yet more actual cases than ANY other country because...... why? Oh. Because Mr Trump is incompetent in his handling of the 'rona when it was on it's way here. I forgot. But I thought he was a racist and xenophobe because he wanted to stop flights from China. No.... couldn't be that..... he didn't DO anything, so he WASN'T a zenophobe or racist... or was he? I forget.

So help me out here I actually see only one of 2 possible explanations for our "high rate" given the percentage of world population we represent: 1) Mr Trump is correct in saying that we have more cases because we are testing more than anyone, or 2) we were biologically attacked by the Chinese.

Or I suppose you have another option... Can't wait to hear it.

Not yet. But it's coming. She's young. She has zero life experience and when she has seniority as a lawmaker to go with that it is going to be a deadly combination. Couple that with president Harris and this country is in serious trouble.
I understand there's a huge push in her district to get someone else elected.

I don't claim trackstar, I am. Worn a mask since last November and still got covid. Mind you, the pt was carrying a heavy enough viral load that several nurses in the room that day were sick within days of intubation him.

I'm sorry to hear that. Glad you got through it ok.

So increasing positivity rates don't concern you either?
No since the numbers by themselves are worthless. No other virus has ever been tracked this way so freaking out doesn't do any good

I'm under the age of 70 and in relatively good health. If I get anything more than cold symptoms from this virus I'm an anomaly

We flattened the curve and then they went for the economy. This is a targeted assault

IMO the spread of the virus here in the US has been exacerbated by a number of factors including:

(1) We are a free society. No Chinese here to clamp us down completely.
(2) We travel freely about... alot.
(3) We have a large segment of our population that *cough* doesn't believe CV19 is a significant threat and, therefore, takes actions that further spread of the virus
(4) We have a President who has failed to create a National Plan to deal with CV19.
(5) We have lots of unfit, fat ass citizens who are unhealthy and vulnerable.

Ultimately, we could significant reduce the spread of the virus by doing simple, simple stuff: Wash hands, social distance and wear a mask. But, no. Folks like you find this an intrusive, overbearing infringement of your "rights".

So, yeah, guys like you are largely to blame. The irony is thick.

No. That's simply wrong. Once the curve was flattened, the majority of states loosened restrictions.

And, also of course, you're simply wrong about the rate of infection being "worthless".

If it's no big deal to become infected, well by god, go get yourself infected! This will help Dumb Donald towards his goal of herd immunity, right? Go for it, dude!

Holy hell its almost like you are now ignoring stats that you once championed on the daily just to push fear of more positive test results . You do realize , I mean anyone without an agenda realizes that there are 3 columns you have to look at if you are going to believe the stats . Positives vs Hospitalizations vs Deaths right ? You can’t just cherry pick one and claim something if the other two go against your claim . Smh .

So why are places like France and many other European countries also experiencing a spike?

The vast majority of countries are declaring more cases each day now than they were during the first wave earlier this year.

Which countries in Europe are experiencing a second wave of COVID-19?

This article, unlike American media, does not blame pols for this. It only mentions increased testing.

I know many on the left are blinded by their hate for Trump to see the truth but eventually intelligent people will see that only a vaccine will bring this under control. It's not a matter of a master plan

Since you are using terms like "folks like you" we might as well look at what folks like you have done.

1) caused thousands of businesses to fail
2) caused millions of children to lose a critical year of education
3) caused a significant increase in suicide
4) caused a significant increase in drug use and overdose deaths
5) caused a significant increase in delayed diagnoses of cancer
6) caused a significant increase in depression and the ill effects

Why? Because you champion restrictions that go well beyond wash hands, social distance and wear a mask.

So, yeah, guys like you are largely to blame.

How do you defend this position when many of the areas that have seen an increase in case numbers DID, in fact, take the virus seriously, close down businesses, and enact mask mandates? How do you explain that a large percentage of new "cases" claim to be strict mask-wearers? How do you explain Hawaii? How do you debunk the CDC's own meta-analysis from 2019 on prevention strategies for the transmission of influenza?

Exactly.

I wish someone would go to the Knox County School Board and tell them that the girl who died of suicide 2 weeks ago was their fault.

You don't like it but it's not wrong. Sickness should be tracked and documented not unreliable tests with zero reason for being even taken

I work for a living so going to infect myself is an idiotic suggestion. It didn't mean that I live my life in fear though.

Bleat on!
