I am with Crompton. He is spot on. If we move on from Pruitt at some point, we have to get an offensive coach and someone who is good with QBs. The game has evolved and it is more important than ever to be able to develop QBs. And elite QB can win you any game.

My list would be (in no order):
Freeze
Cutcliffe
Sarkisian
Joe Brady

I’m not sure any of them could win us a national championship, but they could get us to beating the usuals and competing with our rivals. That is what we need.

I've heard an opposite theory that was intriguing. Forgot who it was, but they mentioned how there were a plethora of great offensive minds out there these days with offenses being replicated and all...but very few great defensive coaches. This theory said to go with an elite defensive HC and you could always pull great OCs anyway...and in reverse, it would be much tougher to find a solid DC to pair with an offensive minded HC.

Anyway, it was just an idea I thought was intriguing and I like to believe it with Pruitt and all. It is almost like a modern Saban model...that said Urban, Dabo, Riley are offensive minded and been killing it so who knows...

Can't tell if serious. Entire team had 211 yards watched the game...they got a pick on the PSU 4 yd line and a pick on their 38 yl. Indiana offense was ATROCIOUS.

I’m talking the runs on 3rd and 5 and 3rd and 7 and the conservative play in most of the 3rd quarter when we still had a chance to get the score within 2 scores. Then again after the late 3rd qtr touchdown , we shut it down again with conservative playcalling. A defeatist attitude and he was not playing to win.

Got ya. I started losing interest with our defense (and fumble scoop n score) bleeding points. I'll have to go back and rewatch. It was demoralizing watching the defense tonight. But yeah thought we could have gone more balls to the wall too

I’ll always be a VFL, but I don’t think we are gonna turn the corner for a long time.

We suffered through Dooley, Jones and now it doesn’t look much better with CP.

The lack of Development is astounding. I’ve watched several other games today and see other kids showing improvement and we look lost on most plays.

Had a lil watch party at my place for the game and had several VFLs over and we all just looked stumped as to what is going on.

Our offense is so easy to defend. It’s almost JV level. No creativity, no discipline, no consistency. Play calling has been limited to the point that it’s hamstringing us. QB play is just awful. No down the seam shots and even when we do they are thrown 6-8 ft over the WRs heads.

I’m at a lost.

Never thought I’d ever see the RF turn into something I’d see in the FF in the time I’ve been on here. . We lost to a better team, period. Who in here, really thought we would win? Anyone? I always have hope and will in two weeks, but I saw a better team than last week.

If Tennessee fires Pruitt here’s what’ll happen:

Almost immediately (like that week) we see decommitments from everyone in our recruiting class that’s worth a damn with somewhere else to go. Dylan Brooks ends up at Auburn or Alabama, Terrence Lewis stays in Miami, Aaron Willis and Katron Evans MIGHT stick around, Kaidon Salter stays in state because he won’t be able to get to know the new OC. Cody Brown goes to Auburn, Kaemen Marley goes to UNC.. you get the point.

Jeremy Pruitt is almost IMMEDIATELY hired by Alabama as the DC.

False Grumors fire up again, half the fan base says anyone less than Urban Meyer is unacceptable. We don’t have the money to offer him. Fan base goes into a frenzy.

PJ Fleck opts to stay in Minnesota for less money, Matt Campbell does the same at Iowa State, and Bronco Mendenhall at UVA

A slew of transfers happen after Derrick Ansley and Brian Neidermeyer are not retained. Including Henry To’oto’o, Quavaris Crouch, Darnell Wright, Brian Maurer, Dominic Bailey, Doneiko Slaughter, and about 5 or 6 other Pruitt guys that are ONLY here because of that coaching staff. This would likely include Harrison Bailey. Jarrett Guarantano opts to stay for year 6 after the depth chart thins.

Tennessee finishes at 22 in the nation for recruiting after having to replace all of their big departures with low 3 stars that weren’t being recruited by other SEC schools

Cade Mays and Bryce Thompson declare for the NFL draft

Tennessee finishes 4-8 in 2021, and finishes barely top 15 in recruiting with Ty Simpson at Clemson and Walter Nolen at LSU.

Or, this season we finish 5-5 or 6-4. Salvage the class, sign 2 more guys we need and get ready for 2021 with Harrison Bailey as the guy and a potential 9-10 win season on the horizon, and a shot at a top 5 class in 2022.

Think about this before you just want to fire the HC.

Eyes wide open. We're still 2 years away, if we have the right QB. It's still a uphill battle Ga. way ahead on defense and bama way ahead on offense. Give these young guys 3 years in the program if we're still loosing 3 games a year by 3 tds. then you should be ready to look around.

This is exactly what I’ve been thinking the last two weeks. It’s not the only issue, but it’s a massive one. Look how tough UT looked in 2018 vs. Kentucky compared to last week.
