So this quote kinda goes back to something I've been thinking. I see Pruitt as a guy who is big on seniority. I honestly feel like Pruitt would rather take his lumps with the upper classman in game and build depth that way then put in his freshman to get game experience. I don't know which is right or wrong but ive had that thought a few different times about him.
But playing a 5th-year senior that has no touch on his passes, can’t read defenses, does not feel pressure, and continually misses open targets, sends what message?
Beldar Gump is giving coach speak, and he is missing the target worse than his QB misses receivers. You put the best player at each position on the field, regardless of seniority or any other metric. If my offensive philosophy is pro-style, I’m not opting for Charlie Frazier over Peyton Manning. He’s gone from a diet rich in cornbread to one consisting of only bath salts.
This season is not an anomaly. Pruitt unequivocally showed his salt in the ‘18 UGA game. When he cut the game to 24-6, he immediately went for 2. You never, ever, ever go for 2 until it is necessary, something middle school coaches understand and they don’t even kick PATs.
