From someone (me) who used lots of drugs when I was young, and has been around the drug trade more than I should have...
$1000 a day worth of coke/crack would kill anyone inside a year. $500 a day in meth would explode your heart on the first day. Its cheaper and much, much stronger stimulant.
So at 1000 a day it would take almost 3 years, and a couple new body transplants to blow a million on...blow.
At probably 350 a day being the absolute max in meth a person could ever dream of using in a day...about a decade...but again, it would kill you 3 or 4 times easy from brain damage and organ failure....
Meth is probably 5 to 10x the stimulant to your brain and heart that cocaine is. Deadly stuff, and eats holes in your brain tissue.
Cocaine in powder form, if relatively pure, and not mixed with drinking alcohol, really isn't that bad for you as a recreational drug. As an everyday user...yes. When used while drinking/drunk...yes. cocaethylene is deadly stuff...and nobody i knew had ever even heard of it back in the day. Its a drug made in your liver when cocaine is present and alcohol is metabolized. Deadly stuff.
Crack cocaine is just cocaine plus baking soda. Only 2 ingredients. It is faster acting when smoked, and doesn't last nearly as long as snorting powder. Minutes vs hours. Bad stuff, and makes users desperate. Whoever invented that was an evil mofo.
