You obviously have no problem calling people out when they do something you see as wrong, so why is Pruitt immune to that? Go back and read my posts, I've not called for Pruitt's head. I've said, even before KY, that calling for his head is pointless. We'll never hire better. We won't spend that money. Pruitt needs time. But that doesn't make him immune to criticism. If he screws up, yeah, I have no problem calling it out. And I've seen plenty of mistakes the last two games. There are things still broken that should have been fixed. I'll pump sunshine when it's time to pump sunshine, but right now, it's not that time. I live in the reality of what is, not the fantasy of what I want it to be. And the reality is, there's still a lot of work to be done, and some of it is work that should have already been addressed. Pruitt is still human and as fallible as the rest of us. He has and will continue to make mistakes, and we should be able to talk about it without people going into fits, thinking we're screaming for his head when we're not.

Then my reply to KB here is what I will say to you. I understand criticism, like you said, I have no problem criticizing sometimes, but the acidic, corrosive nature of thousands of posts on Volnation since Saturday will do nothing but destroy the steady progress that has been made.
Then I'm not talking about you am I? Do I really have to multi-quote the hundreds, if not thousands of posts today basically calling our head coach and staff pure idiots to prove my point?

Just read the update on Drew. Continued prayers for you and your family.

And @SweetasSoda...gracious girl. Keep your head up, the enemy is looking for weaknesses. Been going through my own stuff but my wife gave me some perspective that instantly made me...cry...but feel better. As bad as this year has been and as much as we have dealt with in our own family (which pales in comparison to so many in here), the one thing that we continue to be blessed with is Ashlee continues to be a healthy girl...and sweet as ever.

Prayers for all of you dealing with family illness and all the other sh** (because that's exactly what this year is) that this year has brought.

Here's a picture of Ashlee, maybe it'll brighten some spirits for y'all. She's my daily reminder to be thankful. I'm not ashamed to say she (and her sisters too) has me wrapped around their finger.
Stress & Anxiety are tools used by the cowardly one with ruinous intent.

Your clarevoyance serves as a reminder of the lesson we are being taught, or, needing to be reminded. Prayers for Ashlee.

My comments to Jeremy that he will never read or know about.

Change the QB to HB, change the trajectory of the program. At this point we would even take Maurer since at least he has a pulse and wants to do what it takes to win. JG and Shrout have proven they do not want to do what it takes to win or they would have done it in their "opportunities", especially JG. Does he have photos of something? At this point the program is teetering on going back to being a bottom feeder despite having better talent than during those dark days. We realize this is all new to you since you were at established winners at Bama, UGA and FSU with loads of talent. So learn from your mistakes as a first time HC and don't make them again, which is what you tell your players.

For HB starting - you have two senior receivers who are willing to go get the ball and hold onto it in traffic - Palmer and Johnson. Chaney needs to get them the ball along with any of the others who HB has chemistry. Let Gray do his thing at RB and feed him 20-25 times a game including passes in space. Teach at least one TE to find the opening in the zone underneath, to turn around and catch the ball for 5-7 yards. Throw that pass on first or second down - not when the D is expecting it. Give HB the authority to check into those type passes. On third down and long you need the TE to stay in to block on the edges at least until the OT's do better at it. You need Gray out on those passes, not using him as a midget to block blitzers. Chandler should be used only as a change up to give Gray a breather. Keep it simple, but effective. Watch how the unit responds overall. Then make adjustments and feed HB more of the O as he gains experience.

Or go 3-7, 4-6 and be on the hottest of seats for 2021 by playing your QB while losing the fanbase like Dools and Botch did in the previous decade.

SAS been wondering about you, thanks for the update. I've thought about the situation with your husband. Have u and close friends done an intervention? I know several people on here have said no one will change u til they're ready. While that is true sometimes there has to be consequences for their actions to help them make that decision. Very few addicts will change if there aren't bottom lines issued.. I know because I was one of those addicts. Making them uncomfortable may spur the decision.
Hope you don't take this post the wrong way as all I want to do is give u a possible solution that worked for me. Mine was opiods not alchohol but its been since 2001.
Just a thought. Hope everything gets better for you..

I recall listening to a podcast with a black comedian, I believe it was Deon Cole. (It may have been W Kamau Bell or Kegan Key?) Anyway, it was on Conan's PC.

He stated that his influences regarding his brand of comedy were different. Talked about Jackie Gleason & Carroll O Connor, specifically the stereotypes discussed in 'All in the Family' as being thought provoking to him. Granted its subjective, paraphrasing that AIF had an impact on his comedy by discussing things that needed to be out in the open. It was an interesting slant.

Gleason was one of my fav comedians.

At any rate this kind of PC is right up my alley. Did tons of grad research on it. Also happen to love comedy.

If y'all get a chance listen to the Kegan Michael Key or W Kamau Bell PC on Conan Needs a Friend. Absolutely hysterical.

I think this is a well thought out and reasinaboe post.

I’m not sure how many people want to acknowledge it may be a reason, but IMO the effect Covid had on our team is very evident. Young receivers/linebackers/QB couldn’t develop properly which has resulted in their lack of playing time. Dline/OLine and secondary have been in/out and have given us a mixed bag.

I would argue outside of Bama, UGA’s defense/Florida’s offense, and Arkansas (wtf) you could make this point for every team in the SEC. I think in the case of Alabama/UGA and Florida a lot of it is talent masking the effect vs their competition. All of the other teams in the SEC have been very up and down thus far. Just look at LSU or Auburn for prime examples.
Honestly, I think Covid is at least part of the problem at most positions because of our youth. I don't think that applies to a 5th year SR. QB.

AP also said hewas doing creepy weird things in recruiting like having the current players cold call recruits parents.

I mean, that does sound strange in a vacuum, but we live in a world where Jim Harbaugh has sleepovers with recruits.

I think you need to slow down and look at posts by individuals rather than grouping everyone with criticism together. We're not all the same guy (or gal). Some people go over the top, some don't. It's not reasonable to group us all together. That's not how conversation works.

And I don't buy that talk on this message board is going to destroy our progress. What we say will not change Pruitt or his approach.

Agreed, but I think it’s a big part of why the young QB’s in Maurer and Bailey aren’t ready.

After the bye week i think this team will look completely different.
