Brumbaugh just got fired

I thought it would be the QB coach. I guess Pruitt really is more concerned with defense. He needs to turn the offense over to Osovet and ride with it.

I’m just tired of complaining about JG honestly. Give the dude a break. He’s not a good qb. Pruitt and his coaches make millions on millions and have had 3 recruiting classes to find a better QB and can’t do it. Thats the moral of the story.

2 classes, really. He was hired right before ESD in 2017. Flipped Shrout from Cal. That was prob the best we could do especially coming off of 4-8.

Then Maurer. Then Bailey.

Maurer has shown flashes but hasn’t stayed healthy. Bailey could be the answer but hasn’t had the opp to take snaps due to Covid and re-worked preseason.

Realistically, we’re a pretty good team when we take care of the football. I think we double down on the run come hell or high water and stop running the hurry up. Shorten the game, protect the football and rely on defense and we have a good chance to Win every game outside bama.

We will not beat Alabama or Florida, but it is still possible to finish up and win vs Texas AM, Auburn, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt. 6-4 would not be a bad record and could we could save the recruiting class.

Literally the only way I’m going to feel good about this is if Tosh comes, which probably isn’t likely mid-season.

It really feels like this is the start and a new head coaching search kicks off in 2021-2022.

Money is for buyouts. It's not the Tennessee way to pay upfront. We pay 'em after we send them on their way.

Just tired of getting on social media and seeing recruits have to confirm their commitment status in year 3. It's a never ending cycle at this point.

It could be as simple as the multiple times in fall camp Pruitt stayed his displeasure with the DL. Which is a unit of veteran guys with a lot of snaps who played solid down the stretch last year.

Maybe Brumbaugh just isn’t a great on-field Coach by Pruitt’s standard and Pruitt feels someone in house could do better.

Let’s not act like our DL have been world beaters this year. We aren’t getting pass rush from any of them.

Not only that but maybe Pruitt thinks the DL may have quit in the second half of the Kentucky game. He won't stand for anyone quitting.

Seriously, we need to can Weinke. I'm with Bass on this one. No excuse that we don't have any back up QBs ready to see the field. That should have been high priority.

And Friend isn't doing very good at coaching our tackles to pass protect either. Friend and Weinke should both have been gone well before Brumbaugh, but apparently Pruitt values his friendships over success.

After we handled Mizzou I breathed a sigh of relief. "Okay," I thought, "we're out of the cellar. We've shown it." Two games later and everything is on fire. It's way too easy to fall apart.
