Official Gramps' Memorial Eternal OT Thread

As long as JG is around at QB one never knows what game he'll play his best without turnovers.
Some games he can be superman w/no problems & then games w/the big boys & it's crying time again.
Holding the ball way too long & waiting for his targets to be open/clear is big problems with JG.

As far as everyone's favorite lightning rod JG vs Kentucky he is 2-1 vs Kentucky. Only loss was as a freshman.

He is 37-51 (72%) 555 yards and 4tds. 0 ints, 0 fumbles in 2.5 games. He came in off the bench last year to win it. everyone's "favorite" the back up QB, did squat and JG had to save the day.

I hate our fans. After one loss they are throwing in the towel. Seeing some people question us playing vs Kentucky and Vandy as likely losses now. "Lucky to win one more this year".

Then we turn around and beat Kentucky this weekend and suddenly they think we should be upsetting Alabama. There is NO middle ground allowed.

Throwing in the towel with Kentucky up next is a little extreme. The same can be said with beating Alabama, thats a bit much. Although, for once I'd like to see UT equal what Ole Miss did and play with them score for score or have a good defense to slow them down. Not go out and lose by 30 again.

I do understand other fans frustration with what we're all watching everytime the team is up against equal or better competition. They fold after a few mistakes are made and JGs confidence tanks.

Different year. SOS.

We play fine against equal competition. GA, Florida, and Bama have not been our equals, but our superiors.

Georgia has more blue chippers than us and Florida combined. Florida still has a slight edge on us. The rest of the east is below us. The games show out that way.

We arent the only ones that get better each year. Last year we went from a top 15 class to a top 10 class. Yay recruiting. Meanwhile GA and Bama are usually battling for 1 and 2. Florida is somewhere right above us but one year does not a team make, especially during covid. We arent in a bubble or closed system where the other teams stay the same.

2-1 vs KY is embarrassing.

Even I believe it's unreasonable (this season) to expect wins over GA, FL and Bama but I do expect to be in the games come the 4th quarter with a chance to win and not turning the channel to find a better game.

Should have never hired Butch.

A real AD - the kind had been a football coach would have seen through Butch; he'd never have been a factor without Hamilton, Currie, and Hart - sounds like a scummy law firm. So bad, in fact, I might apologize to our resident legal experts in advance for even saying it.

Well Butch did turn his wreck into a check, only the wreck was UT football and not a car.

Nope. Just know our history.

I converted, I had to learn, so I researched. I generally found that people's expectations and standards didnt line up with what actually happened.

It's why I dont get as high or low as other people do.

Ones standards and expectations should be higher than past performance.
