If JG plays like he did against Missouri we have a chance. If he plays like he did against USCjr , especially on third down we lose big. There are still question marks for Bennett. His stats are similar to JG’s. How well is he going to do if we are able to sustain consistent pressure throughout the game? What if Pruitt and staff outcoach Smart and staff? You just don’t know. You don’t know about Florida yet either. The only thing I agree with you is Alabama is still setting the standard and is is still clearly #1 at this time.

How about when we beat a ranked Auburn and Kentucky team with him at qb? I get your point, but what you’re talking about needing to happen has already happened. Just get on board. You’ve got no other choice unless you want to be among the people that can’t enjoy a win and would rather have a “pretty” loss. It’s just tired. Aren’t you tired? I know we’re all tired of not competing for SEC champs etc but 8 straight, most of which are SEC wins, is good foundationally. It’s good. Full stop. Do I wish we had a heisman candidate under center? Yeah, but OK lost to an inferior team with a heisman candidate. I’ll take 2-0 over that with a kid that isn’t self-promoting or always threatening to transfer or complaining about the substandard performance and lack f talent he’s been surrounded by til this year. Just get into it. This is our team. And it actually feels like it’s a whole team that we can be proud of. They’ve gutted out tough wins, close games, adversity. I think we can all agree that if nothing else, the team will take on the personality of the guy under center first, and the nastiness (or lack thereof in recent years) of the defense. Let’s GO!

Sorry to veer off topic but my question is after 3 years on the job and like 6 QB's on our roster, how the hell does Pruitt not have anyone more dynamic at that position that should easily take this job away from JG? I'm telling you if JG comes back next season and is STILL our starter, that staff is flat out not doing their job at recruiting/developing at that position. The low ceiling this team has with him at QB is so evident.

Stetson Bennett wasn’t even taking 3rd team reps a month ago. 3rd team! Your argument is invalidated at least by the fact that the coaches you think are putting a better team on the field got it very, very wrong when it comes to that kid. I’ll also go on record as saying I wouldn’t trade JG for two Stetson Bennetts. And don’t even try to say you would have because you’d have tried to advocate for him when he was a JUCO project.

Ok, let’s see. I personally believe he got pushed into action far too soon. If he’d have watched for 2 seasons, we’d love him. In other words, too much film and opportunity to poke holes in his game when he was running for his damn life. Kinda like bringing a double A pitcher up too soon. I actually consider this the second year we can really judge him as a starter. And he’s begun better this year than last. As a result, the whole team has. And it’s beyond my comprehension that we can’t see collectively that he’s light years ahead of where he was after the BYU game. Light years.

He is but I still believe his ceiling is low. Too low to seriously compete for championships, which is what we want to get back to. He's a "Sunbelt" caliber QB playing in the SEC.

Love how you basically lay the outcome of this game at one players feet. If our defense can’t stop UGA? JG stunk it up. RB can’t do good? JG stunk it up. WRs drop passes, miss blocks? JGs fault. Cimaglia still shanking easy kicks? JGs fault. Special teams screw up? Coaching staff screws up? All JGs fault.

Clearly you understand a lot about the team sport known as football.

Vols lose because...

The offense can't move the ball consistently. Despite having a bunch of studs on that O-line, they are still not gonna be able to dominate the best Defense in the country.

Georgia will stuff the run forcing JG to beat them with his arm... and well... of course, that's not happening.

I have no idea how this game will go. My battered vol syndrome can easily see a 40-12 beatdown...but I could see us winning too as a sign we're really back and relevant. Btw...why is Texas A and M ranked after eking out a 17-12 win over Vandy...then getting absolutely waxed by Bama? Anyway..I digress. Go Vols.

And you conclude that based off of being able to stop Arkansas and a struggling Auburn with young o lineman. You don’t know anything. I’m sure Georgia’s defense is great, probably best in the SEC, but they haven’t faced an O line like Tennessee’s yet. With a good game plan and a couple of breaks you precious bulldogs are in for a fight, and you’ll be 8 beers in clenching your cheeks during the 4th quarter.

TN gets no credit for beating "ranked Auburn." UGA dominated "ranked Auburn" last week and you guys all concluded "ranked Auburn" was "overranked Auburn" and "terrible Auburn."

They havent played anyone that has really tested them and neither has Tennessee.
They taken on the mentality of the coach. They have learned how to do things the right way.
You practice how you play. To win.
They hate Georgia as much as we all do.
Nobody wants to win more than Pruitt

Im not expecting a great game that puts him into conversations with any of the greats at Tennessee
I do however expect them to give him some quality throws to get him settled early and lean on the run.

Tennessee will be just fine.

Tell me who have they played that has talent like Tennessee? Especially upfront where it matters in league play.

If Georgia loses the pressure goes through the roof one more time. Season is pretty much done at that point and another year without any sort of title.
