We have no choice...cancel wimps at it again 'We have no choice': Peoria Rivermen among 5 teams to opt out of SPHL season
The choice of how to handle this COVID nonsense is my issue. Democrats, seem to lean towards authoritarian tactics (lockdowns and mask mandates enforced by the same police they claim they want to defund). Meanwhile, GOPers generally tried to use a more softer, less intrusive approach.
There is no reason at all for a person to be triggered by another person not wearing a mask. And there is no justification for Lowes and Walmart to be open but local mom and pop shops to be closed. You liberals have really shown that you are more about "law and order" (with emphasis on "order") than most conservatives are.
Bill de Blasio is anti-Semitic.
I think another reason why the mask mandates got so much pushback is that people are afraid that this is a slippery slope towards mandator vaccines. So the thinking, whether it is conscious or subconscious, is to hold the line on the masks and not give the other side a reason to think that mandating a vaccine will be any easier. Also, personally, I’ve never advocated for police to enforce orders/guidelines. I understand that this only inflames a situation with people who prefer to prioritize personal liberty over community, even with a small sacrifice like wearing a mask that has no tangible consequences.
These generalizations about groups of people like “you libs” (and yes, it extends both ways) is why we can never have real, rational conversations from unique perspectives in our country right now.

How is it irrational? People like the governor of Virginia have already stated it will be mandatory for their citizens once it’s developed.
Exactly. And while I hope that an actual vaccine is developed and fairly safe, we won’t know for years/decades possibly the ramifications of the vaccine. It’s not just governors , it’s the little health czars this virus and the situation has created , that are pushing a mandatory vaccine. The one here in Virginia has already stayed he will mandate a vaccine once one becomes available. So no there’s no slipper slope here it’s full blown government power over its citizens , when the guy in charge of the states health has the power to do it , there’s no “ irrational fear “ he Is literally saying I will do it .

I swear I remember reading that he backed up his health commissioner on that. Wouldn’t be the first time the internet scrubbed evidence of something.First, I said “in many instances” one “could”. You took that as an absolute?
Second, It appears the Governor did not say that and doesn’t intend to soooooo

You were concerned enough to talk about an “irrational fear” of government abusing their powers , odd now that you’ve been shown they intend to do it and it’s not irrational...you lost interest . lol
I believe this is what you were referring to.I swear I remember reading that he backed up his health commissioner on that. Wouldn’t be the first time the internet scrubbed evidence of something.
I haven’t been shown anything of the sort. Someone mentioned the Governor said he would mandate vaccines, so I looked it up, and he didn’t say that. I’m just not interested in you’re inferences.
At worst 2.7%. I think with 7+ million cases we have enough samples to extrapolate to the public at large. Now of course that assumes that those already hit were a general mix and not the ones more at risk. Which thinking about the way viruses hit and who is sick now, colleges, is probably not the case. But I dont know a better way to break it down.Does anyone know the percentage of Americans considered "high risk" of sever cases and death?
It's already gone beyond masks. Stores being shut down, out door activity regulated, gatherings limited, unless it's a mostly peaceful protest. You have the governor of Michigan working around her supreme court after her and several other governors have been checked. We've had the government give out billions to their chosen winners. We have Fauci and others saying we cant open up until 2022 or later. In many instances one could substitute the term “slippery slope” for “irrational fear” and have a valid point. JMO.
