Congratulations to Sam Pittman, the Hawgs, and Hawg fans for breaking that 20 game SEC losing streak, and doing it early in Pittman's first season, which should help shake that loser mentality and give them some confidence going forward. I don't know much about his staff overall, but he made really good coordinator hires with Art Brile and Barry Odom. Pellini was stubborn last week and continued to keep his secondary in man-to-man coverage and paid for it. Odom played zone defense and kept the receivers in front of his secondary and avoided the huge YAC that killed LSU. That forced the MSU offense to sustain drives, which it was unable to do, especially in the redzone, when you don't know how to run the ball.
After seeing Pittman doing his “yessir” bit, I’m convinced he literally has bodies buried somewhere

What a random game to pull out as reference. 3 years ago? Non-SEC team? Like, he could have just referenced what they did last night or last year against TN lol
Maybe because Notre Dame had a vaunted OL with multiple future NFL players...most notably Quentin Nelson?

Where do the Vols end up in the polls? I'm thinking 2-3 spots improvement.
6 teams below us lost, but I'm not sure Auburn gets punished that badly for a road loss to #4. Imo we go 4-5 spots to 16th or 17th. I think Texas drops a lot. Very easily could have lost to TTU last week too.

Notre Dame is fools gold. So is Florida. Bama has no run game to speak of. If we can't get our secondary fixed, we are going to have a tough season. Hopefully Shamburger coming back helps shore up the issues.
Notre dame is overrated, Ohio State should be there but f them they're not even playing right now

Anyone get the feeling we’ve been saving our tight ends in the passing game? We’ve pretty much kept it basic with throws to the outside.

Call it BVS, but I've heard too many times we are holding back and playing vanilla just to see this is who we are. I am sure there are some wrinkles we will throw at them but what you see is what you get.

I expect Pruitt and co to get after the pups with blitz packages, but our O is what it is. We will try and grind it out and JG hopefully will make some plays. Ga is ok on offense, but their D is stout and fast.

Some quotes from Florida’s post game thread. We can run on that team and keep that offense on the sidelines. We do have the perfect set up to battle them. Big imposing OL.

If we lose to UGA because of the D , that should seal it for him

If we lose to ANYONE because of this defense he needs to go. This is fair warning to all Florida fans right now I am telling you we are not going to steamroll Tennessee they are coming with their ears pinned back and they are playing pretty good and getting better

I agree about UT. Their defense is better then ours and getting the points they need to win on offense. This isn’t the usual champions of the offseason Vols . They’re legit. Ways to go till we play them and I’m glad it’s not next week

Pretty much zero penetration all game. Our Dline is small and was fairly well handled today.

Yes, can’t imagine what could happen w Georgia, LSU, aM and Tennessee. We look tiny.
Me likey...

Their line is slow. We have advantages on the edges. If we can get pressure off the edge and make him step up in the pocket, the backers will be able to clean up. It will be a great day to be a Tennessee Vol.

This is a “show me” week for Pruitt.. I am ecstatic at where we’re at to start the season especially coming off the finish last year. in no way am I saying it’s a must win, but if we get embarrassed like Auburn did last night, a lot of the nah sayers are going to be coming out... this needs to be close to a one possession game deep in the fourth to keep our mojo going

I’m slightly worried that guy Kearis Jackson for uga could have a Shi Smith type of game against us. It seems like our linebackers keep getting matched up with quick guys. And even if sham comes back, how effective is he in his first game? We gotta blitz a lot next week to make Bennett uncomfortable

Tryna bicycle out here on the greenway but these cheep ass tubes keep tearing. Now I have a combination of WD-40 and dirt all over me making me look like a peasant.
