Not loving that extension we gave Pruitt. In fairness, we will make a much worse hire if we were to have the need before 2025 so I guess it doesn't really matter.

Extending Pruitt is as much a message to the assistants as it is Pruitt that UT is committed to them.

Agreed, George had a rough first half. Bryce & Taylor are pretty clearly our best corners imo.

Sham’s experience in the system is why he’s so valuable as our 3rd CB.

I liked Slaughter getting reps he got better as the game went on.

OT here but how are you doing over the past few weeks? Your post about your mom passing really got to me as I lost my dad at the beginning of this month. Crazy that the Vols and Titans are undefeated and I can't talk to him about it.

I’m doing well. I appreciate you asking. I’m so sorry to hear of your loss. It is tough. You know they will leave someday but you never actually think about it happening until it does. We are not even doing a funeral due to Covid (step fathers decision) so it’s just a crazy year. I’m sure your father was cheering on the Vols from above my friend.

They pulled George and left Slaughter and we were running some weird defensive backfield formations lol at one point BT was walked down as a Corner and then like 2 plays later was back at safety lol so I dunno what the heck we were in exactly.

Just went back and looked and you are correct.

At the Star, you may be right...right now. But it was also Slaughter’s first game ever in college with an extremely limited off season.

Who knows though Pruitt is obviously willing to let them earn the start, and with the secondary he has & 4 “freebies” before burning a year I like seeing it.

Per Pruitts press conference it sounds like McCullough probably wasn’t able to do walkthroughs before the game so Slaughter got the start since he was actually at practice. McCullough is obviously the starter at that spot over Slaughter.

But I much rather would prefer BT and AT at the corners, McCullough and Flowers at safety and Slaughter at the star.

I think that’s what would of happened at the start of the game if McCullough had played the first half although I know he is technically our FS.

But once George became a liability you obviously had to move BT back to CB and McCullough to Safety and leave Slaughter in.
