Non-Lady Vol Basketball News 2023-24

I think the intention of this thread was to provide the opportunity to share non provocative newsworthy material—an organizational strategy. It has turned into a playground of championing other programs over our Lady Vol program. Trolls have emerged and taken advantage of this thread by constructing their own rules to promote their teams and magnify their successes against the current and recent Lady Vol struggles.

The umbrella here is still Big Orange and the ticket to type here is still volnation.com. Hope to see this thread return to unbiased news stories only.
It’s pretty much the South Carolina fans doing that.

Just for perspective: there have been 43 actual NCAA women's tournaments. Only 17 times did the #1 ranked team win it all approx a 39.5%. Therefore being number 1 going it is in no way a guarantee of a championship.

That’s great odds though. Curious what percentage was won by teams outside the top five.

That's 11 times they were ranked No. 1 and won the championship?

How many times were they No. 1 and not win the championship?
No, the answer is 9 times UConn was ranked No. 1 and they won the championship and 5 times they were ranked No.1 and they didn't win the championship. Two times UConn won and they wasn't No.1 (Taurasi's senior season and Stewart's freshman season).

Where's Dangerfield fans? its playoff time and she's back to 4 point & 10 point while Sims took over with 24points.
Why the shade for Dangerfield? Tennessee girl born and raised!

I find it pretty amazing when the opposing coach has to gameplay for a rookie. They took away her scoring but she had 6 assists in the first game and 7 assists in the second.

Sims scored 24 but she made a few unwise decisions and forced shots at times. Dangerfield will be fine.
