Did Sankey say he approved one waiver? If so it might be between Mays and the Ole Miss safety that transfered from UGA
No. That was poorly written by Hyams. Listening to the teleconference, he was referencing past approvals. It also would have made huge news if Sankey had said somebody was approved currently. He absolutely shot down any talk of individual waivers, out of privacy and all, as he should.

Ole Miss kid is still at the NCAA level fwiw.

I figure Sankey already knows he's going to clear Cade but is planning to release that info about an hour after the team leaves Knoxville, just so everyone understands what's what.

People were mentioning how this affects the travel roster earlier...

WHY exactly does the traveling team only get 70 players...the home team gets 80...while both have ~85 scholarship players and who knows how many potential walkons?? I've read it's a decades old rule based on the additional cost, but with the kind of money these teams have now, why not just let them bring whoever wants to come? At the very least, leaving the away team at a (slight) disadvantage, on top of having to travel all that way, is just silly.

I’m curious why the media has us 3rd in the East, we’re ranked 16th, and yet the FPI says we will win 3 games and the Vegas O/U is 4 games.
Vegas has us at 5.5 iirc. Fpi gives us 3.8 wins.

For what it counts.

But...it is because our schedule has 5 teams ranked above us...and uk and usc aren't tooo far behind.

It’s just straight idiocy. Vegas doesn’t completely hate us. ESPNs fpi definitely hates us. It’s all ridiculousness if you ask me.

As many know, my mom passed this past February with Alzheimer's. It's a terrible disease. Like you, my fear is I will acquire it too. I've thought about having the DNA test to see what my chances are but I'm not sure I want to know.

As to cost, my mom and dad purchased long term care insurance. It was a great that they did because of the cost of caring for them. I'm thinking of purchasing a policy myself. The last thing I want is to be a burden on my wife or children.

My wife and I just purchased it for ourselves. It cost my mother-in-law a lot to take care of my father-in-law his last years.

At this point it seems to be a punishment to the ones who transfer and the ones who take them. Nothing worse than waiting on someone to make a decision about what you can do. And it can't take this long to make a decision on these players.

Oh I certainly trust Vegas (puts money where mouth is) over anything else. I've got us right at 5.4 wins, so I'm on board with their 5.5 prediction.

Wouldn't say FPI hates, as it's purely formulaic with no human adjustments to individual teams...so it can definitely be dumb on its own. It has actually overvalued us historically. It's been pretty spot on the past 2 years, but overshot us by an average of over 2 wins the 3 years prior (probably more blame to Butch underachieving than FPI being too optimistic).

I assume it uses ESPN's recruiting rankings as well, which definitely undervalued our class last year. I think that's a definite flaw, because they adjusted the FPI to weigh new classes quite heavily...in this case it sees the 2019 UT class as only 2 spots ahead of USCjr's lol. Using ESPN recruiting rankings is a major flaw imo. They are so terrible, but are too proud to trash it.

good for them. mine did not. and my dad is the stereotypical caregiver. they're both retired obviously, but if he could, my dad would probalby still be working. long story short, they're in a bind. they don't qualify for a lot of benefits because they don't "need" the help. cause if they paid out of pocket, they'd be broke before they would qualify based on need. and if the family helps financially, then that doesn't help the "need" factor. anyway...i've thought about the same thing for me as for the test. but i don't want to know......that stuff is scary. hate what it's done to my mom. and dad. they just turned 70, but she was diagnosed nealry 8 years ago.....so she's young to have it as severely as she does. 80+ year olds, ok...but barely in her 60's...

there's a lot of bad diseases, and i'm not trying to to go there as to which one's worse etc...but this one absolutley sucks.
