Given that neither you nor I are epidemiologists, much less epidemiologists who have studied coronavirus, how are we ever going to get past just showing each other what other scientists have said? Of course, we can step in and say "well, I've reviewed the gazillion studies out there, assessed their quality, and conclude X," but then I go back to the point that neither of us is an epidemiologist, and therefore not positioned to evaluate the data here. At the end of the day, for the uninitiated, we have to rely on the testimony of the experts, and Fauci is such an expert. I'm going to trust what he says about the virus everyday of the week over what Trump and his non-scientist sycophants say.

Just to add a little to this convo..... in my facility we had 12 positives around April...... now we have an outbreak getting close to 50..... all of the ones previously sick have not gotten sick again at this point.

Yes, antibody response certainly occurs in almost all recovered infections, and circulating antibodies can be found for at least a couple of months, but titers do wane. The significance of this and level required for protection is yet to be determined.

More importantly, CD4 and CD8-specific (T cell) activation has been demonstrated, likely conferring a more durable immunity. This is where the money is, but we won't know exactly how long it persists until more time has passed.

I can provide sources and Pubmed citations this weekend, if needed. A little busy this evening. Thankfully, "fun" busy, though

You act like this is some important revelation that staying home and avoiding travel prevents people from getting sick. Who the hell has ever argued otherwise? Surgical masks help with projectiles such as coughing or sneezing but offer very little protection for respiratory droplets
