We were there that week as well. Our resort was evacuated for a day or two and we drove over to Gulf Shores(Fort Morgan area) and stayed at a good friend's house til the storm passed and we were allowed to return. We are making our annual trek on the 10th of Oct.I was in Destin when Irma hit. The day before it tore Mexico Beach to the ground, the wife and I decided "to hell with it, we're going anyway." We agreed that Destin was going to have be a direct hit for us to forgo our beach vacation...
And we're going back in a few weeks.
No the B10 thought they could announce not playing and tried to rush and be the cool kids that were first and cancelled their season. Then when everyone started saying they would play they tried to cite some BS science that only the cornoabros believed. Now that others have figured it out the B10 is back pedaling to try and save face. It's novel.
Science is doing it's best. Rapid test is a good thing.
Glad to see them do the right thing.
Not to be that guy, but last year they felt the same about Georgia St and BYUSpoke with a few coaches about it....yes we are operating at a disadvantage but as I said earlier everyone is confident in this teams ability to get the job done at SC. We have more talent and we have better coaches. I understand the concern but I think we get the job done.
Completely agree. I think we should be fine on our defensive talent as long as the O doesnt turn the ball over and gives them time to rest. The UGA is the first game I worry depth and conditioning could come into play.Spoke with a few coaches about it....yes we are operating at a disadvantage but as I said earlier everyone is confident in this teams ability to get the job done at SC. Great observation. I agreeThe big difference between the beginning of last season and this season is we now have almost a full list of starters who have settled into their positions and have had an entire season of SEC play and off season (to the degree of practice, but still on their own, weight room, and film room study) to improve... the first two games last season was a bunch of new kids being switched around at new positions and learning new systems, along with coaches figuring out position groups and dialing up different looks. This group has definitely not gotten the same amount of practice as other SEC teams, but the confidence level within most players is probably off the charts compared to last year... that will be the difference maker in our first game... player self confidence and coaching/system stability will be huge.
