I was in Destin when Irma hit. The day before it tore Mexico Beach to the ground, the wife and I decided "to hell with it, we're going anyway." We agreed that Destin was going to have be a direct hit for us to forgo our beach vacation...

And we're going back in a few weeks.
We were there that week as well. Our resort was evacuated for a day or two and we drove over to Gulf Shores(Fort Morgan area) and stayed at a good friend's house til the storm passed and we were allowed to return. We are making our annual trek on the 10th of Oct.
Texted my friend who owns the house out at Fort Morgan but haven't heard any news back from him yet, although his wife did text back that "oh well, Bill can build anything", lol.

It's novel.

Science is doing it's best. Rapid test is a good thing.

Glad to see them do the right thing.
No the B10 thought they could announce not playing and tried to rush and be the cool kids that were first and cancelled their season. Then when everyone started saying they would play they tried to cite some BS science that only the cornoabros believed. Now that others have figured it out the B10 is back pedaling to try and save face.

Spoke with a few coaches about it....yes we are operating at a disadvantage but as I said earlier everyone is confident in this teams ability to get the job done at SC. We have more talent and we have better coaches. I understand the concern but I think we get the job done.
Not to be that guy, but last year they felt the same about Georgia St and BYU😏

Completely agree. I think we should be fine on our defensive talent as long as the O doesnt turn the ball over and gives them time to rest. The UGA is the first game I worry depth and conditioning could come into play.

It’s been an amazing rise for clay travis. The man that questioned tebows virginity at sec media days to the single more important savior of big10 football in 2020.

Wow he might be the most powerful Media guy in sports now. Crazy rise
Bruin is Clay Travis. Makes complete sense now. Thanks, Clay!

So I was listening to That SEC podcast earlier and heard a really cool tidbit of info from Coach Orgeron at LSU. Apparently if you’ve had Covid and have recovered/tested twice consecutively, you don’t have to be tested or quarantined for contact tracing for 90 days. 🤔 that’s interesting

The big difference between the beginning of last season and this season is we now have almost a full list of starters who have settled into their positions and have had an entire season of SEC play and off season (to the degree of practice, but still on their own, weight room, and film room study) to improve... the first two games last season was a bunch of new kids being switched around at new positions and learning new systems, along with coaches figuring out position groups and dialing up different looks. This group has definitely not gotten the same amount of practice as other SEC teams, but the confidence level within most players is probably off the charts compared to last year... that will be the difference maker in our first game... player self confidence and coaching/system stability will be huge.

Great observation. I agree
