That's entirely false. I have said that it has likely been achieved in some areas (Sweden, NY, NJ, Italy?). Anyone who's paying attention knows I've been advocating for the rest of the country to try to get there before cold and flu season, and before our economy is irreparably damaged.

Everything, other than nursing homes/LTCF and hospitals that care for adults.

Sure: there are something like 150-200 different strains of influenza, largely due to the multiple different hemagglutinin and neuraminidase proteins. Immunity is not permanent nor cross-protective, especially with the inactivated virus vaccine.

I’m one of the “ lucky “ ones that had a bad case of chicken pox around 9 or 10 years old then shingles at 17 .

It never ceases to amaze me when a tech has been billionaire becomes a champion of something to save everyones life. What in the hell makes this man an expert in healthcare?

And if Bill is such a philanthropist, why was Microsoft charging so much for an operating system that they themselves continually made obsolete while coming up with much more expensive (and increasing buggy) replacements? Then stop insulting me and acting like you know what you're talking about. I have tried to keep politics out of my comments in this thread, yet that's your knee-jerk attack. Have you considered that I just *might* take great interest and invest an incredible amount of time into the study and practice of medicine?

What do you think the curves in NY, Sweden, and Italy resemble? Why would you think a vaccine is the answer, but natural immunity is not? Do you think Americans are going to line up for q 3-6 month CV vaccines within a few months of their development? Are you privy to inside information about mass infection and causalities in children and younger/healthy adults that is hidden from the medical professionals?

I'm assuming you were, at least, able to Google the pathophysiology of shingles.
