I seriously doubt most people regularly contemplate that nearly 8,000 Americans die every day. Or spend much time worrying about the reasons they died.

You claim that something I reported from a weekly infectious disease meeting (that weren’t even my own words) is somehow a prognostication attributed to me about how bad the virus is/will be. That truth doesn’t fit your mind set... so keep using it as you please to pacify your troubled mind.

The panic? Yes, absolutely it is primarily the fault of the press. Even if we assume the press was "just reporting what was going on" it is clear to anybody with more than 2 brain cells the headlines were rank with sensationalism and fear propaganda to increase clicks and ratings and push political agendas.

I'm far from a Trump supporter, but I would love to hear what this administration could have done differently to materially affect the death count. All this news about lockdowns and masks and CDC guidelines and what not...the simple truth here is this virus is going to run its course no matter what. Deaths are going to happen now or later. We could have taken the Sweden approach and ripped the band aid off, or we can "flatten the curve" and drag it out. This virus is going to do what its going to do.
