I've never seen any presidential candidate from a major party draw the paltry numbers Biden does. I don't think Trump wins but honestly I have no idea what to make of Biden's event attendance.

I have some friends working in the Biden campaign. It is strictly enforced that social distancing is paramount. Even with local meetings at the county or city level, which means no in-person stuff like a normal campaign. Basically everything is online, aside from public appearances by Biden and Kamala. So there won't be any crowds at Biden events, they actively discourage it.

If you notice the photos floating of Biden and Kamala's public appearances, everyone in the crowd is following the six feet rule. Most even have markings on the ground/floor like in check-out lines at stores.

We will see in November which strategy is effective. Trump excels at populist style, barn-burner rallies with large crowds; he and Bernie could not be more different on the political spectrum, but both are extremely effective at messaging with large crowds. Obama was very effective with his call and response style of rallies, akin to Southern black church reverends and pastors. Hillary tried the Obama method, but couldn't pull off the accent lmao. Biden is a kitchen table issue type of politician. He's never done well with large crowds, that just isn't his style.

Anyways, back to lurking. I came out of hiding just for you Pops.

Nobody shows up at my campaign events because we actively discourage it...I have heard it all.

Just telling you what the official word from the campaign is. Whether or not it is because Biden can't draw any crowds, I honestly don't know. He couldn't during the primary either, but here we are.
