Yeah, this whole "story" has gone berserk. Most older folks have multiple health problems, and since that's who is dying, there will obviously be associated diagnoses.

I have absolutely no idea what the percentage is that have died of an apparent unrelated cause and were labeled as a "COVID death." I do know it was/is (?) happening, it's just impossible to determine how often.

Well I think in March it was about saving grandma and it still is today. Difference being we now know how to live our lives without killing grandma where as in March we didn't. All people need to do is wear a dang mask for the most part.

From a US public health perspective - does it matter that you tend to need another condition (like diabetes, heart disease, or obesity) to have a higher risk of dying? I ask because I'd say 65% or more of the adult population has at least one of those. Wouldn't you? Maybe that's too high because a lot of your obese population will also have heart disease. But, the number has to be way up there.

Of course, it matters at a personal level.

The question that really needs to be asked is for all the certificates that list corona as the comorbidity would the person had died without corona anyway. I don’t know what that number is, but I guarantee blasting 1000 deaths due to corona in a tweet is not true reality. Do you?

Yes it matters unless you believe someone else's life choices should directly affect my ability to do business. If very few without these additional risks are dying then we're being shut down not because of covid-19 but because of other mostly treatable conditions that have been allowed to take over our society

Where's the money to be made from that? Why would a drug company want fewer diabetics when their profit on insulin is so high? How much are bp meds? How much money is made when the only pills being taken are otc vitamins?

One of the reasons I think this healthy at any size movement was not grassroots. You think coke, Pepsi, mcdonald's, Dunkin donuts, Starbucks, etc want fewer customers (or at least more who understands moderation)?
