Listened to the Ansley interview on my drive into work this morning ....

Thought it was interesting that he mentioned Aaron Beasley as being the back up to To’oto’o. Wonder if he’s starting to carve a roll out for himself, or if it’s more a testament of how lacking in depth we are.

Also glad to hear DA mention John Mincey in the rotation along the line. He flashed as a freshman before Trey accidentally hurt him, but I don’t remember him doing anything last year. When we signed him, there was talk he was an under the radar kid who was better than his ranking suggested. Would be nice if he emerged.

And of course I loved George and Burrell getting praised.

Tyus Fields mentioned in the safety rotation but it sounded like he was running third deep with Cheyenne Labruzza. I know his story isn’t written and that it takes some kids longer - but considering his pedigree, I actually thought he might’ve made more of his presence felt by now.

I understand the change from the classic 2 g, 2 f and center standard. There is still a lack of effort. Guys do not play with intensity on defense and they are more athletic on the defensive side of the ball too. Your argument fails.
You're arguing with a wall..we know what that effort looks like because we have seen it before, and we know it is not there now.

Terrible take. The staff preferred Hudson Wolfe over Briningstool, Coulson's parents were Michigan grads and we have better prospects, both committed and on the board ( Aaron Willis, Dylan Brooks, Terrence Lewis, Smael Mondon) at LB, Turrentine had questions about lateral quickness and wasn't pursued heavily, we lost out on Pennington to Clemson, Prince Kollie is brand new, family is devout Catholic, and again we're good on LB. The only other prospects in-state the staff likes are William Parker, Gooch, and Adonai Mitchell. Walker Merrill, Deion Colzie, and Jordan Mosley all address the spots that Adonai Mitchell would take (and are higher rated). Parker is trending towards us again after Bama's late push. We are doing just fine with the is class.

Sorry but most of the difference is the effort on defense.

Those guys are pros in a league with roughly 60 players. They are the best in the world at what they do. There are hundreds of dudes looking to take their job. Anyone not giving “effort” is not going to last long in the NBA. Of all the bad takes on here, this is the worst.

Thank you! 🧡

It’s so cool to see some of your real names in these donations. Real loving people. We have made tremendous strides for his fundraiser and I have VolNation to thank. I haven’t tallied it up but I’m pretty sure posters have accounted for up to and maybe more than a third of the campaigns current amount. 💪🏻

Take a bow VN. I never doubted you would come through. My SIL’s boss who is a former athlete and current donor has asked Uncle Phil if he’d like to share a message for Drew. I am pretty sure he is going to make Fulmer say no to his face 😆.

I also have a bit of news in regards to his treatment. Today brought some real tangible progress towards a plan. They will build a digital model of his spine tomorrow and begin proton therapy as early as Tuesday. It’s pretty incredible stuff where they can shape the concentrated proton beam into the pattern of tumor and essentially paint the cancer delicately with minimal radiation to the surrounding structures and tissue. In contrast regular radiation is like a garden hose set on shower mode.

Lord I hope it works. GB🍊
This is some great news! Looks like our Heavenly Father is answering some prayers. Give Him thanks, and keep praying, gang!

Hey @Atlanta VOL, we need you to pull strings and get a large bag dropped off to Drew’s gofundme page. Maybe you and some of TN’s large donors can each match the current amount on the page, which is around $6k? Or match what Volnation has donated? PUT ON MORE STEAM!!

Remember when Jordan won the gold medal in '84 without being surrounded by other NBA superstars?
No. I wasn't alive. There was a year when the US didn't have the most basketball talent? I would think the US could send a team of their 5th best players at every position and still be as good as every team in the Olympics.

Haven’t watched one second of the nba this season. Don’t feel as though I’ve missed much of anything.
Nope just people making millions playing a game with no sense of a normal persons life sitting out games and whining anytime they can

They should play in honor of a person instead of sitting out

Dude you’re way off base. Look at all the positive change that has emerged from them delaying that game. It was basically civil rights revolution that our grandchildren’s grandchildren will talk about.

That, and lebrons tweets. Racism is over now.

Unfollow me if you disagree

While I’m not necessarily arguing with you it is worth pointing out that in 84 Jordan had to beat maybe 1 good team (Soviet Union....nevermind I forgot they boycotted in 84), but LBJ has been dealing with international play FILLED with top tier NBA talent that’s made international basketball infinitely more competitive than what Jordan played in.

All that said, the US shouldn’t lose in international play. Ever.

very true
Major change happened

Jordan is the man, and always will be... he could compete right now. Hell I seriously would take Larry Bird in clutch situations over Bron right now. Lebron is physically gifted, but lacks in the mental game where even the black mamba was better.

Guys like Allen Iverson, Isiah Thomas, John Stockton, would all give Lebron a headache... and he would not dunk on guys like Robert Parish and Bill Laimbeer... they would make him flop or cry.

Any news or updates on Cade???

Michael Jordan was so damn good they made a "Be Like Mike" song. I've never heard anyone sing they want to be like Bron.
Some kids might. More power to em. Dont see anything wrong with Lebron, if anything hes a good businesman.

I'm sure people had issues with Ali. Watched Doc on HBO on Ali this week. It felt like I was watching clips of stuff in news now, it was eerie. Sad.

Why depend on the government. Why isn’t the parents fulfilling this role? If I were you I’d take the matter into my own hands instead of complaining about government for not providing for you. Just a thought

Well, I'm not the parent, I'm the grandparent, and I work full-time. I will retire in a few years and hope to homeschool him myself at that point. My daughter works 50+ hours a week as coordinator for the chief of surgery at Vanderbilt, so she does as much as she can. Since the father of my grandson decided to leave rather than be a parent, she doesn't have help in the house. She does what she can in the evenings as far as working with hm on reading, but he has dyslexia and she is not trained to be able to help him overcome that. I work with him on math in the evenings when I pick him up, but it is with his learning to read with dyslexia is where he needs help. He was doing very well last year in first grade with the etra help in school until the shutdown and that was a setback.

The school system is required to provide that assistance so she expects the school to do just that.

And I will b*tch about the government as much as I please. Metro just raised property taxes 34% and much of that they said was for education, so I damn well expect them to educate my grandson properly.

But thanks for your awesome contribution to the conversation.

Anyone listen to the Matthew Butler interview and just taken aback by how low key his demeanor was?

For a 280lb man trying to destroy other big men on game days, he just came off like a gentle giant.

Really enjoyed the interview
It’s the quiet ones you worry about. The low key type is usually the effective approach.
