Agree.Trump isn’t a conservative but so-called conservatives cheer him on.
He is a moral reprobate yet so-called Christians cheer him on.
He believes in government interference over free markets yet so-called capitalists cheer him on.
Etc. ad nauseum . . .
Pretty sure many will cheer on whatever authoritarianism he decides we need as long as he keeps pretending to be a member of their party and, most importantly, they feel their enemies are suffering more than they are.
That's been my take since the beginning of Trumpism.Agree.
And those that are following him blindly need to read up on post-WWI Germany and the rise of Hitler. I remember studying that period and wondering how in the world apparently normal German citizens and government officials could fall in line behind such a leader and movement.
I’m fairly certain that Trump doesn’t plan on killing Jews by the train load. I base that on his move of our Israel Embassy.Agree.

Because they made the conservation about two sides. It was Nazis/fascists or commies. That nazis won that vote.Agree.

Hitler was the "lesser evil?" Interesting take.Because they made the conservation about two sides. It was Nazis/fascists or commies. That nazis won that vote.
Same thing is happening here. The parties left the people two crap choices after physically chasing out every other game in town.
They turned the mantra into us vs them instead of what the party actually does. They cared more about the rhetoric and promises than results.
They chose the lesser evil.
So,See the Covid thread.
Shutting down the nation.
Banning gatherings.
Requiring masks or vaccines.
Seizing means of production.
Setting prices.
The coronabros are on him daily that he should have done "more".
Yes, as a history major, it was expected that I have an adequate understanding of U.S. and world history.Curious ... did you also study American history and the history of the two party’s ?

Any other questions to divert from the parallel I drew between the rise of Hitler and our current political climate??
