Yep.

Numbers will eventually go down but there will be spikes all the time.... Wonder if we will be recommended to wear masks for several years to come?
Yes...the mayors, governors and health departments have got a taste of power now that they are not going to let go of.

Lol at trying to stunt against Big Trey. How depressing is it when your bag of tricks get laid waste.

Honestly, that might've been the smartest play against Trey since he's started. You know you're not getting past him any other way. I'm laughing too but I also genuinely give the kid props for trying.

I’ve been studying the teams in the conference for this year with an eye on trying to determine which ones might be improved relative to last year and which ones might have a significant drop off from their performance last year. Things I’ve considered are like replacing the entire coaching staff, or replacing one or both of the primary coordinators, or replacing the starting quarterback, the level of returning production with offensive skill players, the number of returning starting offensive linemen, the number of returning starting defensive linemen, returning production from the linebackers and secondary, the prevailing team talent level, and the relative recruiting success of the incoming class for each team. I also considered the relative strength of schedule because no one is padding stats on either side of the ball this year with G5 and FCS opponents.

Since Kentucky came up in this thread yesterday let’s look at how well they might do this year. Last year UK won 3 SEC games (AR, MO, & @VU). They lost 5 (UF, @MSU, @SC, @UGA, & UT). This year they swap out AR for OM, and add @UA and @AU. I think they’ll lose all 3 of those. Maybe they can win 3 out of the other 7 but I think it’s going to be hard. I’m not real sure they can stop the Pirate and if they can’t I could see them having a disaster of a season where the only team they beat is Vanderbilt. I think Kiffin will find a way to beat them and I can’t find anybody else they can beat. I mean if you couldn’t beat South Carolina last year I’m not betting on you beating them this year. They could win @MO but I don’t know. Anyway, I’ll be surprised if they win more conference games than they did last year. I mean, seriously, it is what it is and you hate to see it. jmo.

So below are my rankings for now, for most improved this year, and how the teams will stack up relative to the rest of the conference. For example, I think AR and VU will be vastly improved this year relative to where they were last year and relative to how much improvement most other teams in the conference will experience but both teams start so far in the hole that even with that improvement they’ll still anchor the bottom two rungs of the conference. jmo.

I think we’ll be the most improved and there are other people who recognized that we’re being overlooked by a lot of the media. I mean, hell, I've been wrong most of the time but really, there’s always been a legitimate reason. I’ve been learning as I go and try to factor in those things that I may not have objectively considered in prior years. Like last year I was right when I claimed in the preseason that we probably couldn’t be any worse on the DL than we were in 2018 although that didn’t exactly pan out in the first few games of the season. It did eventually though. I was sort of right when I claimed we would go 10-3 because if we play Georgia State and BYU 10 times last year we win 9 against each of them. jmo.

My only real concerns this year is certain areas of depth. The 2021 class can’t get here soon enough if you ask me. I think HT as the leader of our defense needs to remain healthy all season long though I am confident Pruitt and Ansley are developing contingencies. That’s my only real concern on defense. On offense I think we need Ty and Eric to stay healthy all season long but again I would think Pruitt and Chaney are developing contingencies for that too. I don’t really have any other real concerns on offense. jmo.

So these are the rankings. The algorithm takes input from the variables identified above and spits out the two numbers, one a measure of improvement relative to last year and the other a measure of strength relative to the rest of the conference. For example let’s take Alabama. This model suggest that Alabama will neither move up or down in overall improvement but inside the model it says Alabama will have about a TDs worth of drop off in offensive production per game which it will make up for with essentially a similar amount of improvement in its defensive production. I don’t think we can rule out the possibility of us actually beating Alabama at least once this year. jmo.

Anyway, so with our improvement on both sides of the ball, I claiming that we will be one of the top 2 teams in the conference this year. I’m pretty sure I’ve got it right this time. jmo.

Sitting here reading Chatta's signature "jmo." over and over (great stuff as always, Chatta), it made me think - in all of Pruitt's 15 or 16-minute presser the other day, I'm not sure I heard a single "aight" the entire time. I was happy about the overall progress he's made in front of the mic, from his 2017 introduction presser to where he is today. But honestly, I really miss the "aights" too. Jmo.
