I put this in one of the corona virus threads but thought I'd put it here also. Got my emissions test done today on my car. In the past, when there wasn't a covid pandemic, they have you get out of the car and step away while they attach the device under your dash, then you get back in when the tech is done. Today, during a covid pandemic, they were having people stay in their seats while they did the test. So this sweaty dude had his face within 18 inches of my face while he was trying to hook up the device. WTF? I don't want some sweaty guy all up in my face during the best of times and certainly not with the rona going around.

Mixed experience with Hiller. I needed a mini split for a bonus room over a garage, got 3 estimates and Hiller was the lowest. Offered 10 years on parts, labor and compressor. I went with them and the unit has been a good one.

A couple months ago my 81 year old dad needed a new unit. He wanted a 4 ton gas pack and was happy with 14 SEER. We got 5 estimates and Hiller was the highest by $5,000. When we told them how high they were the guy called his boss and said OK we'll knock off $5,000 and match the next guy. We told him to pound sand. We haggled with another company and got him down to $6,200 on a Trane, which my dad preferred. We also had an offer of $5,400 for a Heil. Because of this experience I'd never use Hiller again.

So far, I've had decent luck with them. This will be my 4th time. An install and three check ups.
