During the 1988 Democratic National Convention, Rev. Jesse Jackson said the GOP should now stand for "Grand Old White Man Party". George Bush was troubled by this and by the perception that the Republican Party was not diverse. It resolved him to pick a Supreme Court nominee who was black during his presidency. He was well aware of Anita Hill's allegations against Clarence Thomas but stood by him anyway... because he felt it was important for his party to have placed a black man on the high court, and Thomas was really the only conservative black who was remotely qualified at the time. Bush was being discriminatory, but this wasn't racism. Bush had nothing against white people. It doesn't equal equality, it can help lead to equality by balancing out inequalities.
Jobs are a zero sum game.If they have a policy of not hiring whites, and that is why they don't hire you? Then yes, that is racist... although typically, racism is understood to be the practice of excluding minorities.
The influential NYT and other media have admitted to receiving millions from China. They aint giving it to get bad press. The Chinese have money and spend it for influence while Russia is a comparative joke.Wha???? ... even for you that’s a crazy statement . You honestly believe Russia is the only foreign power actively conducting propaganda and trying to interfere with US elections ? SMDH
It only works if there is active racial bias, which is not the point of affirmative action. These policies work in the wrong direction. They decide what the racial makeup should be based on nothing, and then try to Jerry rig it into existence. The actual approach to solving the problem, which has basically been accomplished in all fields, is to find evidence of racist hiring practices and then let the demographics be what they are while eliminating them.It doesn't equal equality, it can help lead to equality by balancing out inequalities.
You think China is our friend? WtfTrump threatening to ban tiktok and some other one in 45 days if not sold.
45 days.
October almost.
Gee, think anyone in the entire world doesn't see this for what it is, the vilification of China for election purposes?
Chinese virus. Everyone in the administration now calls it the "Chinese Comunist Party."
Its just sooooo pathetically obvious.
Not sure how you arrived at that from anything I've posted. I cited an example of how a conservative white politician, limited a nomination to only black candidates, and how that wasn't racist. Bush wanted a conservative black justice, but he wasn't biased against white people.Ah. Yes. The ever narrowing definition of racism so that it can only include conservative white people.
Their meddle is stuck in the Russia bad groove and that’s all they see. One would think that already trying that philosophy once and getting blindsided ( Trump
Bad) , it would open some eyes for a wider view of things . Nah Russia bad .
I just voted by absentee ballot for the first time this year and it was simple. The state website allows you to track your ballot and shows when it was sent to you and when it was received back so I think this allows for some level of security. Now if they just willy nilly send ballots out to people that aren't expecting them I don't think that will work. You trust your vote to the USPS?
She knows and doesn’t care. She gets her news (and words) from Twitter. That tells you all you need to know. Wait...hmmm...EL is always on Twitter and says stupid things all the time. The Dems always talk about Trump saying stupid things all the time and he is always on Twitter. EL = Trump. Wow. Mind blown.Tell me what president would be in the blue right now? Your posts leave out a lot of context.
Discrimination directed against a person or people in the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group. Even you admit what Biden did is discrimination against whites. Why are you struggling with this so much? There doesn’t have to necessarily be animosity towards whites. We, as a society, have assigned animosity to the word as racism typically (our other word of the day) does involve animosity. In this case you claim it doesn’t and that’s fine. But it is racism by the definition.During the 1988 Democratic National Convention, Rev. Jesse Jackson said the GOP should now stand for "Grand Old White Man Party". Absentee ballot is one thing - been around for decades. I used it in the 90s while enlistedI just voted by absentee ballot for the first time this year and it was simple. I'm not struggling with anything... Not all acts of discrimination are acts of racism.Discrimination directed against a person or people in the basis of their membership of a particular racial or ethnic group. You have to request a ballot vs just being mailed a ballot. What if I move to Colorado next year and TN decides to just send me a ballot when I don't live in TN anymore. Any Tom, Dick or Harry that lives at my previous address can fill the ballot in and send it back and it'll be counted. You think that's fair? How is it totally different?
