If you maintained that level daily, that's about a 40% increase in daily deaths over normal for Florida (if all other deaths continued occurring at typical levels). I can do some excess death analysis for Florida, but it would be better to do in a few weeks because of data lags.

Why is an individuals health not under their control? Why blame everyone else for a personal choice? He was compromised and knew the risks. Putting this on Trump is dumb

That's fine if you want to call out Trump's ego, but in the last 10 minutes I've seen you say Trump voters don't care when somebody dies and EL says all Trump voters are racists. It's ludicrous to converse in that manner.

The two are not inconsistent. And by November we will be over 200k dead, it would appear.

And there will be replays of Trump over and over a hundred times saying it is not a threat. 11 cases and that's it. It is going to disappear. The numbers aren't real. Its fake.

He is going to get crushed like the cockroach he is.

It's painfully funny to watch a bunch of philistines who haven't had an actual science class since 9th grade biology, suddenly try to argue the veracity of a viral study all because they feel some bizarre need to justify the statement of a politician.

For many, the ludicrous lockdown policies are infinitely more "real" than the health repercussions of the virus itself.

I agree it's probably his own fault, yet I imagine Trump requested he come to the rally, and wearing a mask might have not been the optics Trump wanted on his stage. So, in my anecdotal scenario, without Trump, would he have died?

It's not an urgent threat to the vast majority of individuals. It's not a great enough threat that the entire economy needed to be carpet bombed to stop it

Had we embraced masks and similar measures when the experts like Fauci and the CDC concluded we should have, you might be right.

Sadly, Trump and many Republican governors insisted on perpetuating the lie that masks and some consistent closures were not necessary.

The outcome we have now is a DIRECT result of Republican and Trump ineptitude. They are going to pay dearly at the ballot box for a long time to come.
