Biden campaign Declines 'Fox News Sunday' interview, 1 week after Chris Wallace's Trump sitdown

'We'll keep asking every week'

During his interview with Chris Wallace last week, President Trump questioned whether the Democrats' presumptive presidential nominee, Joe Biden, could handle the barrage of questioning that Wallace posed to Trump.

The answer to that question – at least for now – we may never know.

Wallace on Sunday informed viewers that the Biden campaign told Fox News he was “not available” for an interview.

"In our interview last week with President Trump, he questioned whether his Democratic opponent, Joe Biden, could handle a similar encounter,” Wallace said. “This week, we asked the Biden campaign for an interview and they said the former vice president was not available.”

He added, “We’ll keep asking every week.”

Why would he give them an interview? Granted, of all of them Wallace makes an effort to at least appear somewhat open minded. But you know he'd be under tremendous pressure from the Fox apparatus to try to strike some sort of major blow for Trump.

I think it is pretty clear why the Biden campaign is declining the interview.

LOL. You are kind of proving my point. Fox viewers won't vote for him anyway. So why would there be any benefit to it to the Biden campaign?

0.000001 % risk

0.000000 % upside

He has to climb out of his basement eventually whether it be a debate or interview. Not sure if Elizabeth Warren being his mouthpiece is the greatest idea.

Disagree. I would take Obama over Clinton anyday. Obama had the guts to do a lot of things that no other president would.

I also disagree on the media as I think it is a Republican talking point to say the media is so much more liberal than it used to be as i think this is blown way out of proportion. It's just an easy out to blame everything on the media and not have to make actual and thoughtful arguments.
True. Obama was a straight up racist and made no apologies for being so.

You have to understand, if Joe Biden were a drooling invalid, unable to speak and asleep 23 hours a day, he'd be an infinitely better President than Trump. Getting rid of that debacle we have in there now is the highest priority, by far.

Reagan had a severe disdain for the press. The difference was he could insult them with a joke and Trump has zero people skills or the ability to kill with humor.

The issue is the media is very bias in 2020, a million times more so than the early 80s, and the miscommunication and straight propaganda is so vivid that no one truly knows what to believe anymore.

Reagan was not perfect either and had some major flaws and some of his policies have drastically hurt this country. He is just the best President we have had in decades so he has been placed on a pedestal.

Outside of Reagan and clinton every president we have had since JFK has been straight trash.

JFK was trash also.

You watch Fox News more than any other poster on the board. Are you telling us that you’re not voting for Stumbling Joe?

Maybe he could change some minds, or is planning on being POTUS if only 1/2 the citizens?

I acknowledge the fact that there are many Trump supporters that voted him in office last term who will be voting for another candidate come November. There are surely many people who are ultimately undecided and do not feel comfortable electing a man that may be suffering from dementia (dementia is not funny BTW). I personally feel that this will hurt the Biden campaign in the long run when he decides to become more engaged with the public. The whole “Anybody but Trump” way of thinking is not the deciding factor for everyone.

Lol... Biden has Chris Dodd vetting women to be the VP. I can’t believe that’s not a punchline and is actually true. Not exactly who I’d want out front.

Opinion: Republicans must choose between Trump and the Constitution

"It’s not hard to figure out what’s driving this unusual dynamic: Donald Trump is a failed president, and his failure is having an impact on Americans’ daily lives that has little to do with ordinary partisan differences. With life turned upside-down by the coronavirus, and Trump showing he has no answers as the pandemic continues to spiral out of control in the U.S., it’s no surprise that some longtime Republican voters are supporting the Democratic candidate for president.
