Dallas shooting outside bar injures 4, reportedly after men denied entry over coronavirus rules

Three men were shot, one of them critically wounded, and a woman was hit by shrapnel at a Dallas sports bar by a suspect who had been denied entry, police said.

The craziest thing about this is that De'Vante Harris managed to open up a second bar/restaurant in the span of seven months and in the midst of a pandemic. This isn't going to end well for him given the track record, I'm afraid.

I traveled today for work and the airport was packed as is my hotel. And most travelers seemed to be for pleasure as opposed to for business. I believe the majority of the country is over this thing.

I concur.

Just look at the difference in mindsets. In my area, East TN, people were mostly on board in late March with shutting down when there were hardly any cases or deaths here.

Now we are probably in the midst of our peak and restaurants are open. Schools are opening. Etc. People have just said we'd rather go for it.

Nancy Pelosi Vows to Block Coronavirus Liability Protections

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) said Democrats will oppose liability protections for employers of “essential workers” in any future coronavirus package in a Sunday interview on CBS’s Face the Nation.

I was having the same thought today. Football is about as strenuous as it gets and I think there is some notion the players can just shake off the CV19 and go on with the games.

If the idea is that players who test positive won't play, then maybe it could work, somehow, but I'm just not seeing it, though.
Yep. And once multiple people on a team test positive in a contact sport what do you do? Quarantine two teams? Math doesn’t work.

Why? You just do them the same as essential workers.... if you test positive then quarantine for 10 days.... if no symptoms.... they go back out and play.

Why I won't be getting a vaccination - even if one is developed:

Pretty simple. I don't trust our government. The Trump administration has proven time and time again that the ONLY things that really matter to it are money and money. There is no way on God's green Earth that I'd believe the rushed, Trump-hyped, BS-flying process of developing a safe and effective vaccine will do just that by early 2021.

# of coronavirus vaccines developed by mankind to date: zero.
Fastest time a vaccine developed to date: 4 years.
# of years waiting on a vaccine for HIV/AIDS: 40.

Based on what I've read to date, I believe these types of viruses simply mutate too fast. We may get a vaccine that produces an immune response for CV-19 v. 1.02 which served as the genetic basis for said vaccine, but unfortunately CV-19 v. 1.04 will be in circulation by the time it's actually brought to market. Result: partial or no long-term immunity.

Donald Trump is probably right about one thing: CV-19 will just "disappear" one day after it runs its course... far before the medical field figures out how to prevent its spread. Unfortunately, this is probably a year or two away.

The net/net is our society, business, sports, etc. will be stuck in a perpetual start/stop redux as new waves and genetic strains of CV-19 circulate seasonally.

We like to think we're masters of our own universe, but that's simply not true: Mother Nature is still in charge here.

You come in here calling it the trump virus and arguing red versus blue states..... both states has their challenges.....The fact remains that Tennessee has 2500 less deaths while also testing 300,000 more than Maryland...... Tennessee also typically has triple the amount of tourists per year than Maryland does.... I have been to pigeon forge a month or two ago and it was slamming.

The fact that gatlinburg was busy a month ago probably explains why TN’s new cases are at their highest levels and climbing. Maryland reached theirs in May and aren’t close to being back there.

The rest of this is just repetitive, nonsense, or both.

Can you quote where I talked about red vs. blue states? I’ll wait.

I love how they are wearing African clothing that represents the tribe that became rich from capturing and selling their own people into slaves. Thats a level of ignorance and racism not many can achieve.

T and B cell research regarding covid-2 and implications for a quicker immune response to the corvid-19 has promising implication combating future mutations. More research is needed though. Way too early for a reliable vaccine.

Damn dude, nice to see you comin' 'round to covid reality.

Actually it was in May during my anniversary.... don’t tell my wife I don’t know when that is lol.....the stats show that Tennessee has done a better job with less damage to our economy.... I think we should open everything all the way and go for it.

You think players testing positive will be allowed to play after a 10 day quarantine? It's not like 10 days and some Tylenol will make playing with Covid safe for that player or others.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I can't wrap my head around how anyone thinks the benefits of playing in a college football game while infected with Covid outweigh the risks.

I’m sorry...... are we trusting science or not? The latest CDC recommendations state that after a positive test and 10 days of quarantine..... the person is no longer contagious IF asymptomatic at that time..... They do not recommend re-testing due to the fact that people can test positive for at least 3 months after the initial positive test.
