My kid will start full time in about two weeks but I send my kid to private school. We have been doing travel basketball all summer. I cannot believe I am alive.

Yeah, but Starr County is easily in the running for worst county in the United States. We might as well cede it to Mexico at this point as, surprise, this is another area in which they manage to categorically suck.

Yes, we’re in the Myrtle Beach area. A wonderful place to live when there’s not a pandemic.

Have a friend who used to work the E.R. rounds between Georgetown and Waccamaw. By all accounts those places were already having issues that would be unbearable during a pandemic. Maybe things have changed, though.

Here are some questions to also ask. What is the age group and how long are the hospitalizations? Are the patients coming in WITH COVID or BECAUSE of COVID? One of Micky links said the overrun was because of the pandemic. That could mean a lot of different things.

A lot of those who declare masks useless spend their time finding pictures of protesters and minorities not wearing them, as if being the Karen mask police is making their case. That equates to, "if I see someone not doing it, then I'm not going to, either".

Or they are just pointing out the hypocrisy from the media.

The fans/parents about 90% wore masks. I practiced social distancing way before this BS. I do not want some stranger up in my grill/space.

I picked the stats (deaths per day and positivity rate) that the “this isn’t a big deal” people were using for the last few weeks until they turned against their narrative. You’re the one who tried to use stats from one single day to compare two dissimilar states.

I assume you don’t have any reasons to give in support of your comparison between Tennessee and Maryland?

You come in here calling it the trump virus and arguing red versus blue states..... both states has their challenges.....The fact remains that Tennessee has 2500 less deaths while also testing 300,000 more than Maryland...... Tennessee also typically has triple the amount of tourists per year than Maryland does.... I have been to pigeon forge a month or two ago and it was slamming.

A few sports are still on for the fall in Knox county with the door still open for all others.

I really think parent input should be valued more. 5 months into this and 70% of local parents said we're sending our kids back to school while cases are high as ever in the county is pretty much parents telling the school system to man up.
