2020 Presidential Race

Lol. Not so cheap when you consider the taxes that pay for it plus whatever out of pocket.

And not really sure you want to point out that it is one of our most bloated budget items that pays for this child care.

We cut our military spending down to 2% our gdp and we could afford a lot more. Let me know when you are comfortable with that.

I dont know about childcare but this is absurd:

"The United States spent roughly $3.2 trillion on health care in 2015. That is a staggering amount. Indeed, this level of spending makes the US health care system the fifth largest economy in the world, behind only the US, Chinese, Japanese, and German national economies. By 2020, health care spending in the United States is expected to surpass the national economy of Germany.

In this systematic review, we found a high degree of analytic consensus for the fiscal feasibility of a single-payer approach in the US. Nineteen (86%) of the analyses estimated that health expenditures would fall in the first year, and all suggested the potential for long-term cost savings.

Until the eating and health habits of Americans change you are just wasting more money. You can site any study you want about other countries but it doesn’t take into account our lifestyles. We eat enormous proportions of food, tons of junk food, tons of fast food, tons of sugary drinks, and get very little exercise as a whole. Keeping the “average “ American alive long enough to even compare to other countries in lifespan is an amazing accomplishment given all of the above.

Get healthier people. Is it any wonder we spend so much when we have sssssooooo many unhealthy people? Probably half of that is spent on preventable diseases going off our top health care issues of high blood pressure, obesity, and heart issues.

Neither the brits nor the germans can afford to take care of their relatively healthy population without death panels already. We would fair any better. And I am willing to bet with our government it would be worse.

I dont care what side you are on, no one wants Biden or Trump making decisions about their healthcare.

We pay more than twice per capita than any other country. It's been spiraling out of control for 30 years.

Stop eating fast food, stop drinking cokes, and get 30 minutes of some kind of exercise a day. Probably the most effective way to reduce healthcare expenditures.

Has anyone actually broke it down to look at actual items of healthcare?

Because we are Americans. We use twice as much as anyone else. So is not a stretch that we spend more.

Just ask one of the front line health care people on here what kind of people their patients are they deal with on a daily basis . Ask them about the special big boy beds , the lifts they have to install from the ceiling , or how many of them have to get together in a group , just to help turn people . There’s no stretching involved , our health care spending can’t be compared to other countries because our people and their health can’t be compared .

Yup. I basically lived in Sweden for a year or so. There are some fat people, but in my entire time there I can't say I saw anyone who was just morbidly obese like you would see in any town in America.

The two biggest reasons if I had to guess were that exercise is ingrained into their culture, and nobody there eats fast food all the time like you would see here.

As a minor aside... One of the guys I was working with at the time was Swedish and was absolutely convinced that Americans were fat because our dinner plates were too big. Not joking at all.
Convinced that was the #1 reason.

Yet we constantly compare them in education like everything is equal.
The obstacles the education system is expected to overcome are at least as daunting as those faced in health care.
In health care we spend more than twice as much per capita than other countries.
That certainly isn't true for education.
But look at how the right lauds our health care and demonizes our education.....I wonder why. (Not really, the reasons are obvious)

another reason why the demoncraps do not want gyms to be open.

No problem with the out of control educational spending? At least we have 1st rate healthcare
lol......compared to other countries our health care expenditure are far more out of wack than our educational spending.
Kind of hard to claim first rate when we aren't even in the top 30 in life expectancy.

People and dignitaries from all over the world come here for healthcare.

We spend close to $15k per capita student compared to $10k per capita for healthcare. So no we get a lot more for the buck in healthcare

First .. I don’t compare them because unlike some that love them some comparisons of other countries to to ours using the old apples to double decker bus using “ String Theory” concept , you just can’t make a fair comparison. Secondly ..not just the right but everybody on the planet lauds our health care for the top level procedures we offer them and that why they send their Drs. and nurses to learn here in the US . Third and last.. our education system is a joke , we stopped trying to teach and raise our kids knowledge base up to a higher standard and started lowering their standards to teach kids more social justice . In a word indoctrination and that’s winning out over fact based knowledge like history . I said all of this because I felt like wasting my breath , knowing you already have this knowledge. 2+2=5 😉

What do you expect when you have a nation of people that think eating fast food every day, washing it down with a 48oz coke, and getting zero exercise isn’t an issue. Then get mad because the doctor can’t give them a pill to undo their terrible lifestyle choice.

No, only in the US is obesity not only ignored but celebrated by the masses. “So brave so inspirational”. “ Be yourself”. Never mind you’re going to have heart disease or diabetes before you’re 40.

As 825VOL mentioned above, it’s a miracle our doctors and healthcare can keep them alive as long as they can now.

... But he said Islamic faith, not Islamic history. It's right in the headline. So what are you talking about?
You literally learn about Islamic faith in school. Including all the tenets of islam. That includes the The Five Pillars, the core beliefs and practices of Islam. It’s part of the world history curriculum
