Used to hang with a couple dudes that played at Johnson Cty. Great guys, quiet. Somebody smarter off to one of em one night. Dude literally broke dudes face. Not a big guy either.

Played one of my best games against Johnson County, but I remember those dudes being pretty rough and tumble.

My Father-in-law lost his battle. He went peacefully with loved ones in attendance. I believe that he is in a better place. No longer hurting snd able to walk again. As gruff as he could be, he will still be missed.

My all time favorite experience with him:
My in-laws came to visit in the Fall, shortly after we moved to Knoxville. He and I went to play golf. It sprinkled on us through the first 15 holes. It started raining harder on the 16th hole. Players were leaving the course. He asked if I wanted to finish the round, of course I did (no lightning). It was raining so hard by the 18th hole that we could barely see the golf balls. We finished and were totally soaked.

We get back to my house, get showered and dry. Then my wife asks if I still plan to go to Neyland to the football game? I say of course, Tennessee is going to beat Georgia. Wouldn’t miss it. She looks to her Dad. His response was what the hell, why not! I gave hime an Orange and White poncho that was really long (I am 6’ tall) it barely passed his knees at 6’7ā€.
We stayed for the whole game. Tennessee crushed Georgia 38-13 before 106K screaming Volunteers.

He told the story of that day repeatedly over the years. He always ended it with the statement: ā€œThe driest that I was that day was while I was taking a shower!ā€ Then he and I would laugh because that was true.

I will miss Big Jim.

Thank y’all very much for your prayers.

Sorry to hear this, Doc. However, that’s a great story!

Yeah let me give you a better roster. For some reason the ones created on PS3s are "locked" in the emulator or something.

Also this it where you need to drop the folder (in the .rar file) for the roster to work in the emulator.

View attachment 294581

here's the .rar file for the roster, just extract out the folder and copy it to the above location

Dropbox - BLUS31159-ROSTER-2020NAMED.rar - Simplify your life

Thanks man but I tried this already last night and when I went to settings to load it in the actual game it didn't do anything. Tried several roster files as well. Not sure what the deal is

I do, he's asked me many times to not say I love him so much. But I tell him as long as I can speak he'll hear it.
One day he will understand how special you are for being there and telling him.

My son complained once because I went to all of his Scout campouts. The Scoutmaster overheard him. The Scoutmaster started pointing out all the Scouts who had never had a parent come on a campout ā€œbecause of workā€. He told my son that they would trade with him in a heartbeat...at age 14, my son ran up and hugged me in front of all of his friends and thanked me for putting him above work.

Thanks RiotVol. That day, my Father-in-Law learned a ton about me. He seriously told me to be as devoted a Dad (before I had kids) as I am a VFL. Some of the best advice ever given to me. I have to the best of my ability and my kids know it...

I will also chime in to @VolsDoc81TX- sorry for your loss. Cherish the memories. I enjoy seeing your commentary, considering I was born in Plano and moved to TN at a young age.

Thanks VolGee4
Given that my kids are both native Texans, I will probably be here from now on. My college roommate at Tennessee was also born in Texas and moved to Tennessee early. The states share many bonds.

I took that as sarcasm. The virus has no sense of humor. It will hunt you down and kill you if it finds out that you are making fun of it...
I'm ready

First of all sorry for your loss Doc.
It makes a huge difference. I deal with abandonment issues because of dad leaving. I don't miss anything of my kids age 18 & 15 and I don't care if it's whittling classes. It's just too important to me.

Thanks Ulysees E. McGill.
I am starting to agree. A good friend of mine put his Dad on hospice yesterday and he passed away this morning.

We had 12 people going to drive to Moab, Utah this past Friday for a well needed vacation. The turn for the worse of my father-in-law canceled the trip, my friend and his family were part of the trip. He would have been in Utah when his Dad passed if we had gone. He is the only child and Stepmom had passed away two years ago. It would have been awful.

Man - sometimes words just cannot express...

We all wanted to kick 2019 to the curb quickly. Little did we know.
